John, the police dad was a good sport, seemed genuine about being fun-loving like his daughter. But anyone can understand why a cop wouldn't be able to laugh at a 9/11 joke, even 20 years later. So the "Could we hang?" 'Are we compatible?' questions were already kinda decided then. Nut's gonna be awkward like that a lot, so you're either about that, or he'll get annoying fast. I think it's really impressive that he eliminated the dads in almost the exact order I would've based on their initial pitches. It's also fairly impressive that just from each dad's pitch you can get a semi-accurate sense of what each girl looks like.
