In fact it was Bramwell Cole who composed the march at the end of the First World War as a salute to those Salvationists who were/had served in the British Services. The tunes - 'God save the King', 'Rule Britannia' and others have been blended into the music.

Believe it or not , the composer was Merideth Wilson who did most of music in 76 Trombones fame
