Would it be rude to show this video to a hairdresser. I have been to 4 different hair dressers who cannot cut my hair into a short shag properly. Last time i ended up cutting some of my own hair after being at the hairdressers. My hair is very thick and wavy, not easy i guess. Always needs lots of thinning out.
@arigonzalez63913 жыл бұрын
I'm a hairdresser! I can't speak for all of us, but I would love if someone showed me video like this! Its a pretty short and to the point video and will give them the best idea of what you're looking for. My only suggestion is to make sure you have an appointment so they have the time to watch it. Its a quick video but if they're doing walk-ins, they may be in a rush and not have the time. Best of luck!
@moniquehvshogendoornvs23483 жыл бұрын
@Violetta i do this on my hair. Whit a long clip. You can do it whit 3 rubberbands. The Line is almost horizontal. But bring each section to the middle at the back. Its the control point. Short or long i cut myself.

I’m a hairdresser, if they are offended go somewhere else! I love clients that bring me pics/videos so I understand what they are wanting.😁

How old are the hairdressers that you are trying? I am just thinking maybe try one that is probably in the 45-70 age range. I am just saying that because most of the best shag cuts were from the 1970’s/1980’s and maybe very early 1990’s
@buyerbware252 жыл бұрын
@@tlfield3648 Truth! I just asked the thirtysomething manager of a chain salon about cuts like this, and she had no clue what I meant. Bonus: her salon removed all of their style books (facepalm).

I literally have been to the salon for 4 hours and twenty-four hour period because my hair stylist could not get it right the first time so I went back she spent two more hours and still did not get the layers correct she said that if I cut them too short they would look funny on my head she didn't know anything about this bone method, I think she was too scared and didn't know how to do this. So off to my own demise I shall be to fix this 😂

Is there part 2 for the front & sides?
@taylork40003 жыл бұрын
As a hairdresser, I’m assuming he uses the same layering technique on the sides using the shortest layer of the back section as a guide. Then he probably does a layered curtain bang in the front to add that shag spunk

from what I have seen from youtube videos, there are a few techniques to do the front half or "framing" pieces. You can either bring it all forward and cut it the length of the fringe (so it blends), or you can take shears or a razor and glide it down to frame the face. I definitely suggest watching a few videos to get the idea though!
@lindamotley62172 жыл бұрын
Then how do you cut the sides?????
@jaspersmom95953 жыл бұрын
20%/80%? That was almost 50/50
@huntress18123 жыл бұрын
I think he means 20% because the front "half" of the head has less hair than the back, because the hair stops at the hairline. But in the back it goes down to the nape of the neck, so there is technically more hair? I'm just throwing out a guess haha

I'm a wavy girl.. Have been cutting my own hair, too. But, have you heard of the book, 'curly girl' by Lorraine Massey and..her co-author? She wrote that and a couple others and started Devacurl method salons..she sold the business and started something else now, apparently. Her book is awesome..rates types of curls and how to care for them, cut them.. Hint: don't use shampoo. Get a botanical conditioner minus dyes, silicones, parabens and wash with that..
