Paused the video to say - locs initially get thicker, with maximum thickness kicking in round about the 18 month - 2 year mark) then as the locs grow longer, they do get thinner. Not because they are thinning, but because the remodelling process is causing them to constrict and compact. I hope this makes sense.

Oh wow! I've been so caught up with life, I haven't seen you in a minute. Your locs are looking amazing for 2 years. And the length! They're officially shoulder length without being stretched. Congratulations! I used to think I wanted to be bra strap length, until I got there and suddenly started feeling the weight of my hair. Chopped it all off, left about 3-4 inches and restarted my loc journey all over again 2 weeks after lol! I don't think I'm cut out for the loose natural life. This time around my goal length is just past my shoulders, no longer. My individual hair strands are too dense/heavy for me to do anything longer. Now that I've experienced long locs for myself, I know I don't want them for me. I love seeing it on others though. Those butt length locs are just gorgeous to look at. Just not for me.

Dear Ifeyinwa, In September I decided that I wanted to have microlocs installed. While I marinated the idea in my head and researched the internet, I came across your youtube videos of your microloc journey. My trip to Lagos was already planned months in advance. Long story short: on October 26th I had my microlocs installed by the ladies from EniBraids and I recently had my first re-tie! ( in the Netherlands) I am very pleased with the results so far and I want to thank you for inspiring and informative video's and 'leading' me to EniBraids. Keep up the good work with your channel! Kind regards, Janice.

I have seen a lot of micro locs and yours is one of the best I have seen. I'm currently four months in and although I am loving the freedom and the fact that I finally took the plunge after over a decade of going back and forth, I am already thinking about cutting it all off and starting all over again. Mine were established by a guy and he messed up the grid pattern as a result I don't have a defined center part even though I'm more of a side part girl but I just like to know that it's there just in case I want to style my hair in a center part which honestly may never happen. I'm trying to wait until I get to the one-year mark to see how I like them before making a final decision.

Yes, washing your hair often helps it to lock faster. The locking process is about hair expending and shrinking, coiling. Remember withe loos natural hair, they take back their form when wet, and getting looser wen manipulated or just bay being dry for too long, their loos they shape. The locking process is all about that process of expanding and shrinking again and again, they're getting more and more tangled, more and more locked

I just came across your channel about two days ago, and just love your hair. lol I believe I’ve made my mind up and ready to start the journey . I’m still contemplating whether I should do two strand twist or the interlock! I think it’s how the ends look for me.
@Ifeyinwa Жыл бұрын
Thank you lovely, I’ve only ever used the interlock method but I think Tykara Ann (on KZbin) started hers with 2 strand twists, so you might want to check out hers. I think the end result (once your locs mature) is the same 🥰

Your locs are beautiful. ❤ Im on my 4th set of sister locs and I finally got the size i want. Been locked for 8 months now. I also had issues with dry scalp. And I’ve come to realize that i have a a mild case of Seborrheic Dermatitis. Mines isn’t as severe as some people may have it, but i highly recommend watching Rose D Annor (has sister locs) & Dr. Alexis Stephen’s (gives great hair and skin products to use; especially for people of color) I used Rose D Annors hair routine and it really has helped me!❤ I also recommend getting a steamer for dry locs as well.

Another tip for dry scalp (I’m a natural 13yrs, but no locs) is rosemary. I add rosemary in my own oil and, i can say that i not had dry scalp during this time.. In my research (hearing they naturals also complained about dry scalp and i wanted to know why i have never had this issue) I have found that rosemary helps with dry scalp and keeps it away..

The action of the apple cider vinegar is to lower the PH of the scalp. Indeed, the PH of the scalp needs to be at 4 or 5. This would help to avoid dryness on the scalp. So you can if you want, dilute 10% of apple cider vinegar in water and rinse your hair with it at the end of a shampoo.
