I agree. Isn't it great to see such an obviously influenced musician but not a copier. Someone with so much pain and passion. So sad that he's no longer with us.

Some great performances in this gig, though every time I watch I always wish the guitar is louder. His voice sounds so strong here that it’s a shame about the mixing imo

A master of the lilting melody, just like McCartney.

I applied this to a situation I was in with someone and got myself out of... but I really don't know what this was supposed to be about. To me it's about someone who manipulates others and moves on to the next victim/s when he/she's been busted or caught...

Seems very much like a reference to Kierkegaard idea of living authentically and not running from the truth life through arbitrary distractions (that in actuality, we define our purpose by our end). I think Elliott was inspired by Kierkegaard's book Sickness Unto Death whilst writing this song.

I'm sure Elliott was flattered by those female fans acting starstruck by him. According to an ex of his, he was very easy to attract, like the character Joel Barish in the movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" who says, "Why do I fall in love with every woman I see who shows me the least bit of attention?" If you've ever seen what Elliott's girlfriend from 2000 to 2002, Valerie Deerin, looked like, you'd know he wasn't very picky, lol. Those girls had a good shot!
