Let's analyze it: In 18:14 "I regret it, and I hate myself for CHOOSING him" clearly shows that she's fully aware of her actions but only miscalculated about the guy as a nice catch compared to her current man and backfired by being discovered early. That's all there is to it. Even her reasoning for what she did is self-serving and unacceptable. What's with the statement "He just asked if I wanted to try him out...I realized that you're so much better..." at 17:53 onwards. For real? And mean she's ok with that, flirting and open to having an affair with others while being in a committed relationship? What if it's the other way around, will she like it? It reflects her morals and character of being opportunistic and only looking for self-gain. By being open with the idea of "trying them out", it implies that what she wants to do is to collect guys, compare, and choose which will suitably bring her more benefit and convenience while keeping others in reserve, so when they are already not beneficial to her she can easily jump ship to her other reserve any given time. I don't disagree. It doesn't seem like she was planing to break up with MC, but to date both secretly. The only reason it didn't happen was because MC caught her at the start. Bit while she isn't innocent, she is a bit of a victim and some compassion by people is understandable. It is greatly implied that villain is popular with women and a charmer. She really did think he liked her only to quickly realise he was just using her. Her actions, or rather possible future actions had she not been caught in the act, were despicable. But pity towards her is also understandable as she isn't the usual gold digging ex that normally shows up in these vids. Maybe rather than being gullible, I think she's calculating. She may have mistakenly believed that she hit the jackpot when Kawata showed interest in her. However, as soon as a better opportunity presented itself, she jumped ship. This is evident from her statement when she tried to get back with the MC. Antagonist got a well deserved punishment. But I'm not sure I would say any actual NTR occured. As far as presented in the story, he claimed to have taken her and she sort of agreed... then he basically just abandoned her. No actual intimate activities were indicated to have occurred. From the MC's perspective, his gf was taken from him... so he might call it NTR. But, from the gf's perspective (and ours, as viewers), it was a fabrication to just split them up to hurt the MC. --- Example : A person has their cell phone. Stolen : When another person takes the phone and flees. They then keep it, or sell it. Destruction : When another person swipes the phone and chucks it on the ground, causing it to shatter and be useless. They both took the phone from the owner, but one actually stole it while the other just prevented the owner from having it. And that was the relationship... the guy didn't steal it for himself, he just smashed it so the MC couldn't have it.

Here is my counter argument. 1:48 - MC's gf finds the antagonist attractive, and her heart wavers a bit. I've heard argument that just that much alone is cheating. But I'm not going to worry about 'thought cheating' for this, and stick with actual cheating. 2:26 - Antagonist starts planting the seeds. Trying to convince her he is better than MC. And asks her to try him out. 2:43 - Because of his wording, she goes along with it... not having actually thought about what is going on. 2:49 - The antagonist grabs her, declares it a done deal. The MC walks in on them... likely the antagonist saw him coming and took the opportunity. 2:59 - She is shocked by this sudden grab, and is panicked while seeing her boyfriend approach. 3:03 - Antagonist declares that she has switched to him fully. 3:12 - Antagonist turns her away and puts himself between, so MC can't see her expression and she can't see MC's expression. 3:20 - MC asks if this is true. 3:22 - She is still in shock, and hesitantly (that is what ellipses are for... a moment of pause or hesitation) agrees. At this point, she hasn't actually put thought into it. A meek woman was slightly swayed and then her boyfriend basically agreed with it. From her point of view, a guy asked to take her and her boyfriend said yes. So, if she did cheat... it was for mere minutes. And not even emotionally or physically... just verbal discussions of the possibility. They didn't ever date, hook up, or even just hang out as friends. ---- Down the road, as you point out. She regrets choosing Antagonist. But I believe it is arguable that she didn't choose... instead, Antagonist set it up so both she and MC would make the choices they did. He took a gamble to hurt MC, and won. -- It's like the tactic car sales lots use. You show up to consider getting a car. They take your current car keys to 'evaluate the trade in value'... but actually they are trying to form a crack between you and your car... because they have your keys. They then apply pressure to consider the cars they have available, and offer extra discounts or bonus packages to tempt you. They will also try and worm some issues with your current vehicle, so they can point out that you won't have to deal with those problems if you get a new car. Now, just imagine if your car rolled up... and the seller suddenly declared, 'they've chosen to get a new car, because it's better'. Then your car asked, 'is this true?' Many people would agree, just because of the psychological conditioning during that time, through the key removal and pressure. ---- Honestly, I've seen this tactic used to steal friends. Get a little friendly with a meek person, put pressure on them... then declare they have switched friends. So yeah, my interpretation of the events is that she was weak and the MC abandoned her. From there, she 'chose' Antagonist because she felt MC didn't actually care about her at all... throwing her aside in an instant. -- But with age comes wisdom. My only problem with this story was with an inconsistency with Tsukishiro. In her backstory she stated that her mother had been tricked by a man and so took her own life, resulting in her father's pain. So why would she be so hard on someone who was obviously in a similar situation? I mean in the end they even stated that Lalaco was even hospitalized due to her depression. While this was an overall good story I think that it was being set up better for a "sad redemption" ending for Lalaco rather than what had happened. So my alternate take on the ending would be one of two scenarios. The first: The MC harshly berates and turns down Lalaco, but Tsukishiro shows her kindness (and superiority of character) by gently stopping him and then explaining to Lalaco that she made an irreversible mistake. However, she also takes the time to tell her that she can come back from this and have a good life by learning from her mistake and becoming a stronger, better person. Latter at the MC and Tsukishiro's wedding Lalaco gives a speech congratulating the couple and thanking Tsukishiro for helping her to improve herself and her life. The second: The depression ends up being too much for Lalaco to take, being a weak person already she takes her own life. This causes Tsukishiro to remember what happened to her own mother and feel regret for the way that she and the MC had turned back her request to get back together with the MC. She realizes that she was harsher than she needed to be and she could have let the girl down more gently. This incident hits her hard but with the MC's support she is able to return to normal with the conviction to become an even better person and never let something like that happen ever again. Also, what made me give this video a thumbs down in the end was that @#%$ at the end about, "Rather than taking someone's happiness, how can we all be happy?" what utter %$#@! The MC KNEW what kind of person Lalaco was and he basically pushed her off a cliff verbally. Then he "hopes for a kind world" well what leads to a kind world is kindness and sympathy. Lalaco's actions were terrible, that is true, but hurting her just to make himself feel better when he KNEW what would likely happen to her makes all his other kindnesses seem false to me. I know that I've really gone off on this but hypocrisy really gets to me and there was a tone of it in this story that I really would have liked if it wasn't there, so yeah. There's my reasoning.

The girl did nothing to say that it was a misunderstanding, even the protagonist asked her the question (an opportunity), if she preferred the antagonist more than him, Lalaco could have said: what he said is a lie, I love you and automatically let go of the villain and thus hug the protagonist, but he did none of that but instead said the opposite telling her that he indeed liked the antagonist more and apologizing, there really was a misunderstanding Lalaco made that choice and yes, let's say that it really was a test (as absurd as it sounds) because he didn't go after the protagonist when he saw that the shot backfired, insisting that he listen to him, but he didn't.

Don't be. Even her reasoning for what she did is unacceptable. What's with the "He just asked if I wanted to try him out...I realized that you're so much better..." at 17:53 onwards. For real? And she's ok with that while being in a relationship. It reflects her morals and character of being opportunistic. By being open with the idea of "trying them out", it implies that what she wants to do is to collect guys, compare, and choose which will suitably bring her more benefit while keeping others in reserve, so when they are already not beneficial to her she can easily jump ship to her other reserve.

I kind of feel for Lalaco. She wavered a little bit... and before she had a chance to decide, she was set up and used to hurt Nagito. She then learned how terrible some people can be. Then she decides to try and go back to him, because she realized how well he treated her... and he treats her like utter trash. She wasn't presented as super selfish or a gold digger. He could have treated her well... and she could even be of value to their company, if they could hire her. Not taking her back, just not lashing out at someone who already has been hurt. For being a 'nice guy', he sure followed the trope of getting really mean when upset with her. With a mindset like that, I'm surprised he doesn't get offended at the CEO for hiring other men at her company.

Nagito asked her clearly if she decided to stay with the antagonist and she said yes. She made her decision and condidering how quickly she turned her back on Nagito, she didn't care about him. There is nothing to feel sorry for her

In the art, the antagonist placed himself between her and the MC, as well as looming over her. In that moment, pressuring her to agree. The MC failed to notice something was amiss. Then when she came back to him, he still hadn't realized anything had been off. She also didn't approach him as if she deserved anything... she asked with what was left of her hope. And the reason they were so easy to tear apart was because neither of them were actually in love. She wanted comfort, and he went along with it. The moment he thought she no longer needed him, he dropped her like a hot potato at noon in the dead of summer.
