As a late 90s kid, having grown up in the early 00s, this type of music will forever be deeply tied to my soul. Many people from other generations may find it "cringy", and that's ok, because in a way it is, but it is also the core aspect that makes it so personal to "us" because it is a type of sound filled to the brim with emotions and lets us bring out our inner (and repressed) child. Full of energy and pure emotion. I have no doubts that you guys are going to become one of the all-time greats! You have indeed both the talent and passion to do so!

@@kierenaster You can tell someone a certain song is better based off statistics alone. Everybody has different tastes but that doesn't change the actual value of the song itself. Only thing that matters is how much it sells/how many likes per view it gets. The OG song is significantly more popular than the cover. The band can only do covers well. If they tried to release their own music it wouldn't get popular so they have to do covers to gain traction. I just really shows how bad their overall band is compared to others.

There‘a no such thing as a musician who hasn’t done a cover and before you list off a bunch of bands who don’t have any recorded covers for sales, look at where they started. All the big names in music have at some point in their career played a cover for people; it doesn’t make you a bad musician to play covers, it’s a good way of getting your talent across to people in a familiar format to them. And since you want to use the streaming statistics of songs to place value on a person’s/band’s musical talent, look at their song “happier than ever” which has obtained nearly 8.4 million plays in less than 6 months on Spotify which is pretty impressive considering they’ve only got 1.4 million monthly listeners on there. For them to have anything go viral, cover or not, in this day and age where the music industry has become so massive that you could throw a rock in a room of twenty people and hit nine that have put music on the internet is extremely impressive, especially considering the band is only two years old. Not sure if you’re just too young to understand all of these different aspects, don’t understand because you don’t do anything with music other than listen to it, or just hating them to hate them, but no matter which you’re simply wrong; it doesn’t take a rocket scientist, sound engineer, or statistician to know that these guys are extremely talented.
