Thanks for the review, been wanting to check this one out. Always thought those Missing 411 stories of people disappearing in national parks were creepy, and this reminds me of those.

It’s definitely worth a watch, we did enjoy it, I’d LOVE to know what you think of the ending.

I never heard of it until now. It’s my favorite of the year so far.

I definitely see an opportunity for a sequel to this film, but I would also appreciate it standing alone!

Exactly! I'm fine either way.

so, in the spoiler section of the video you both decide not to talk about the ending? It has been really hard for me to find a video on youtube that talks about the ending. jesus.

We were under nda when this was recorded. I’d love to have a convo with you about it.

I really wish you went into the ending more. What was the twist? I really didn’t get the movie, but I was distracted. I’ll have to watch it again.

Can you possibly dm us on insta or twitter? I don’t wanna put the ending in the comments.

I don't think there is a real twist. Not a shocking one anyway. There are creatures taking people, if they "have them" the rangers do not find them even though they do. They just leave them, sacrifice them basically. People think that Lennon is actually her missing sister but I don't know if I believe that theory. The Asian ranger sacrificed herself to save Lennon so she isn't dead or stuck there, like people think. When she talks to her sister in that house she apologizes for not keeping an eye on her like she was supposed to and her sisters reply was "it wasn't your fault" I feel like if she was actually her sister, then that reply wouldn't make sense. She also has memories of her and her sister, there are 2 girls. She remembers her mother asking her where her sister is also. Idk a lot of little things don't fit that theory for me.

@danielleschiazza6172 I think her going along with it is the part that shocks me tbh

This movie was disappointing for me. It had the right elements to be the standout horror of the year but I feel that it missed the mark by slowing the burn just a bit too much. The cinematography was beautiful, the cast were superb, the score was unsettling but it just seemed to fizzle out more and more right until the credits roll. I had high hopes for this since the first act but man oh man... This movie just seemed to amount to nothing.

I agree. I had such high hopes but the missed the mark. The dark ending helped me to enjoy it a little more, but besides that I was disappointed.

*Spoilers* I don't know; Sarah's bloody legs seemed to be from climbing the trees rapidly due to being "claimed". I get the insinuation of that blood leads to some place darker, and that may have been the intention, but my biggest problem with this movie (and there is a lot I disliked) is how ambiguous and confusing it is. To me, it failed to deliver on any of its premises. I didn't like Georgina in this, and I feel like I'm crazy. I liked her in Barbarian, but I disliked that movie overall. She felt a little wooden in this and her character I found unlikable. The lack of any character development or tantalizing hints about the nature of "them" (not asking for full on explanation) really hindered everything else. As such, it never really earned the gravitas the ending was going for. It was dark, yes, but darkness seen from 100 ft up instead 5 ft away kind of thing. My wife put it well; the movie was like a match that wouldn't strike. It was gorgeously shot, though!

I adore this analogy "the movie was like a match that wouldn't strike" because it sums it up pretty well, and I DEFINITELY like your interpretation of the blood scene a lot more than where our brains went, so that's how I'm going to see this scene from now on, thank you for watching!

The ending was dark?! Nothing happens and she lies to a person about her being real. The ending was a cop out because the writer didn’t know how to finish the movie. The ending was wack as hell.
