They captured it and held it for over a hundred years, these wars went back and forth until 1259. 1260 The embryonic Egyptian Mamluk Sultanate conquers ancient Israel and It remained under its rule until 1517. The next conquest of ancient Israel was in 1517 by the Ottoman Empire where it was ruled until WW1. The Ottoman Empire disintegrated and was partitioned after its defeat in World War I, and thus formed Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. ancient Israel itself was conceded to Britain who then following world war 2 handed it over to the Jewish people after the events of Nazi Germany and the holocaust, given the nessecity for them to have a homeland of their own (and it was only fitting that it be their original homeland the holy lands) Nowhere along that timeline was there a Palestinian state. The name Palestine was to denote an entire region, a region specifically bounded on the east by the Jordan River, on the north by the border between modern Israel and Lebanon, on the west by the Mediterranean Sea (including the coast of Gaza), and on the south by the Negev. That would be like America saying it owns Canada because of the name "North America" and them being in "North America" So then; because Rome owned Israel 2000+ years ago does that mean we should give it back to Italy?? 🤔 No? only just the arabs can claim it? When there are already 52+ Muslim majority countries that span over (2.1BILLION) people worldwide? when there is *ONE* Jewish nation with less than 16 million Jews worldwide? Hamas attacked first, their people cheered in the streets as Jews were kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered in their homes, from out of a state of peace and during a holiday none the less (This name originated from HOLY DAY) this is not only disgusting but what they DID was even worse.
