I wish I could say it was easy for me. Almost all of my screws were severely stripped, to the point that a jeweler and watch repair shop couldn’t get the last screw out so I had to order a whole new tamagotchi 🙃

If you still have the Tamagotchi-- and don't necessarily want the shell-- just try breaking the shell! I did this with a Uni that had one stripped screw. I essentially just pulled the shell back off using my hands and force. Once the shell was broken, I was able to finagle the stripped screw and cracked shell a part. Worth a try if you consider the Tama to be useless! Be careful because the plastic can be sharp!

how hard is it to remove the port part on the top?

For the part on top, it was not difficult to remove! The plastic cover piece separated easily from the plastic frame. There is a mesh/foam piece that is attached to the plastic with adhesive, and I was able to peel it off without any issues (I was worried about damaging this piece, but I removed it slowly and did not damage it!).

Can you also heat up the hot glue with a lighter and then hold it to the Tamagotchi

what type of paper do you recommend or use to make the faceplates? 🥺💕

For this faceplate, I just used the Tama Uni packaging insert 😂 But I would recommend something a little thinner. When I made my Pix faceplate, I used lightweight cardstock and sparkly lamination film; it worked very well!
