@@thomastarwater2989 they're playing the song a full step down, in the key of F. The original recording was in the key of G. Open a new window and play the 1982 recording side by side with this one and you'll hear the difference. Dropping a song down one full step makes it much easier to sing. So, no... Mike can't really hit the highs like he did back in the day. I'm not saying this to diss the guy, just presenting some facts. Secondly, the sound man running the board has a "shadow" vocal track that he can turn up at any time. So, if a singer is struggling and/or getting pitchy, they can fade his mic level and push up the volume on a pre-recorded vocal track. It's kind of a last resort thing, but it's sometimes needed. Especially when a band has back to back shows, or even 3 consecutive days of performing. How do I know this? I've been in the music biz (as a performer, recording engineer, and sound man) for almost 50 years.

They got caught in a storm. His passengers went down into the cabin. When they came up he was gone. They think rouge wave.I remember him playing in the mid to late 70s in a couple of Very good heavy rock bands.A friend of mine knew him very well, met him a couple of times seem'd realy humblr & shy almost When we heard that Paul Dean( anthother very under rated guitarist, this coming fr. A Metal guy). We were not surprised realy Doug got the call. Its funny cause the guitarist from his old band got the job Paul vacted to put Loverboy together As for Paul Deans playing,I also seen him in a couple bands in the early 70s to mid.He can realy rock out if he has to.But hes a total pro, Always has been he plays what the song needs and not just show off & and do the look at me look at me.

Listen to Vince Neil, or AXL Rose or David Lee Roth or the mighty Geoff Tate. Are they tuned down? Of course they are, most bands do live for their singers. The human voice doesn’t age well. I can’t hit notes I used to back in the day. All of that said, he’s singing in tune, and actually hit the screams which was impressive. Good for them still rocking.

I don't get how some artists don't get in top shape before hitting the stage and touring. They literally have tons of free time and resources to achieve this.

That belly is bloated, not exactly fat. It's sitting too high, which means it's a serious health issue, not that being fat isn't, but this is more serious, like liver failure.... Best to him

Who cares he has a gut. You don’t know his situation. Maybe he takes medication that makes you gain weight. Prednisone is one of those medications, there are plenty of meds that do that. However, that opening bass line needs to be longer.

Yeah the funny thing is his voice isn't bad compared to others around his age and I think he should just do it without the added sample.
