I'm African American but I absolutely love the story of my black British brothers and sisters. I am so in love with this music more so knowing the story of how it evolved out of the struggle of our ancestors who went over to Britain for better opportunity but we're met with racism. This music kept the black people together and created a gateway for black British musical talent.

The soundtrack of a generation when we all had the same story to tell. This told of a simpler time when we faced REAL struggle for social acceptance, whilst embracing our heritage. 1st generation born here, whilst juggling a 'back home' upbringing against western ideology... we were unified by the experiences we faced in a hostile environment and trying to be Twice as good as our caucasian counterparts.. Lovers Rock chronicled our journey through this life and time, dealing with Love, Heartbreak, Uprising and Strength. Its no surprise it has stood the test of time, as it was music created from within our 'Hearts and Soul'. Our Music, Our Story, Our History, Our Life.....Blessings and Love
