28:55 #11 is my favorite one. It shows a home video of a girl thanking her mother for the giraffe she got for Christmas. The mother keeps replaying the clip, until her husband comes in and tells her to stop because if she kept doing it she’d feel worse. Then we find out that they lost their daughter to a shitty fire.

I've had my childhood home burnt down back in like 2002 (it was a pretty long time ago, I think I was 7 then) because my dad got drunk and knocked over a gas lamp while we were asleep. Seeing your whole life basically burn down in front of your eyes, in the dead of winter, with only a pajama shirt traumatized me pretty badly, which is why I take fire safety seriously. Number 18 might be my personal favorite though, it's so nightmarish and terrifying.

I like them, I thought Searching was going to be number 1. I have bad experiences with fire. Seeing your apartment block on fire when you come back from school, at the age of 7 or 9 is not a great experience. Another one is when I was older, but still in a apartment block, above a convenience store. The latter have a false alarm of a fire, it's night, fireman rushes in, my father wake up, etc. He talk about it when I wake up, that the fireman came in the apartment, check everything with their loud boots and I never wake up. So, I came at the realisation, probably false, that I sleep so much like a log that a smoke alarm won't wake me. Don't worry, we have 2 smoke alarm. So, because of that, i'm always more emotional watching Fire Safety PSA. Yeah, just wanted to talk about it, because why not.

"I have bad experiences with fire. Seeing your apartment block on fire when you come back from school, at the age of 7 or 9 is not a great experience." Similar experience for me. I went outside from my home (I think I was 8-10 back then), it was a weekend, and noticed a few fire engines standing nearby. As it turned out, the house of one of our neighbors was burning. Caused by an electric appliance, probably a short-circuit. The family made it out, but the dog died in the smoke.

#32 is absolutely depressing. It also has an odd coincidence with another older PSA called "Searching" that has someone searching a burnt house, hearing echoey voices, and at the end, they stumble upon a wardrobe. Same as #32.

The nightmare one describes my dreams i have sometimes. The “something’s burn” sounds like a sentence that is said in my dreams. Also, I sometimes dream of my parents having a British accent (we all live in USA). But when I was little, I used to have really weird dreams that didn’t make sense at all (I’m 11 now). Like my dad pushing me in a shopping cart and then letting go. Or having a black dog plushie with a red ribbon around its neck. After those dreams, i would wake up my mom and ask her where the dog is; she didn’t know what i was talking about. I never knew what caused the dreams, but I will always remember them. Now that I’m older, I don’t watch tv as often as I used to so I don’t have weird, cringy dreams.

Great compilation! There were a few I hadn't seen before (the Australian bush fire ones primarily). I've said it before, I'll say it again: fire PIFs are the great equalizer. A lot of other PIF subjects are easy to avoid (don't do drugs, don't walk in front of a train) but fire can happen to anyone. #31 always cracks me up. She leaves her kid in the burning house and is so nonchalant about it. Mother of the year! I know mine is an outlier opinion, but I think #9 and #8 are overrated. The music in #9 is annoying, and #8 is too over the top to take seriously.

CONGRATULATIONS ON ANOTHER OUTSTANDING COMPILATION! You must have found it increasingly difficult to select the best from #20 downloads, did you end up with a headache? lol One correction #50: UK not the Netherlands PIF using footage from Bradford City FC stadium fire 1985, if the Netherlands did showed it I just hope they got permission first from the UK copyright owner. #48 Brand spanking new PIF from the team at Fire Kills! An unexpected surprise for most because initially people assumed they had ceased trading, no more advertising or making any appearances on TV for a while but then last year - boom! They're back which is fantastic so we'll keep our fingers crossed in hope that it's permanent. Loved the Northern Ireland FRS ones, they make the point perfectly clear too.

I never got how you can get locked inside your own house during a fire. Don't houses lock from the inside, with little latches you can turn to unlock them?
@LoveThePIF3 жыл бұрын
There are also locks with a so-called "double-lock" mode, which means that they also need a key in order to be opened from the inside. Handy if you have, let's say, toddlers who are prone to wandering.

The scariest part about the "Nightmare" PSA (Aka "Don't Give Fire a Chance") is the lady's voice! If it was the thoughts of the man in the dream, and him freaking out about the things that go on in the dream (For example, with the kid, it could've been like "No! Stay away from there!!!" in a very panicked voice), it would've been scary on its own, but not as bad. Or heck, if the lady was saying things in a panic and telling him to put it out quickly, it still would've been creepy, but not to a big extent. But instead, they go with the voice of a complete "psycho"! It makes me feel like some crazy lady broke into their house and caused all these things to happen! And all the while taunting and mentally torturing this guy and then having the AUDACITY to blame the big fire at the end on him! And then it's even scarier with the "Uh oh" at the end. Indicating 1 of 3 things: 1. It's some sort of "supernatural entity" 2. He was still dreaming or 3. His mind was still playing with him!
@antimatterbee9331 Жыл бұрын
I thought it was some sort of personification of the fire, like the potential fire was speaking. And the fire wanted to come into existence and spread, hence why it called the man a "spoilsport" for unplugging the overloaded socket and encouraged the child to play with matches.
