so much more to see in the Powell River area. I can remember going to Okeover arm to get oysters. They were just thick-about 3-4 layers thick. Then one day a commercial outfit came in and cleaned it out. Hasn't been the same since. Good memories for me.

Hi there. I'm on Texada Island, one day I saw a blue truck go by and the man turned to look at me and I thought, "Hey that looks like Ray from Love Your RV!" My husband is a fan. Then we find out you were up this way. So you were here!! Wish we had met you guys :-)

I did this exact trip about a week before you. Looks like you had nicer weather though. Highlight was probably watching humpbacks from the Powell River waterfront.

If you check out, The Cement Ship of Santa Cruz CA. You'll see it is one of the sister ships, of the ones you were showing. The ship in Santa Cruz area, it actually is by the town of Capitola, she gets pretty beat up by the winter storms. But you can still see her from the RV campgrounds, one state park is on the beach, Seacliff State Beach and the one above is New Brighton State Park.

Another wonderful video, Ray. I have many memories of Texada Island, and my fondest is the small island deer. About the size of a large dog, and quite adept at standing in the middle of the road.

I enjoy the videos of y'all little getaway. What is the temperature like up there?
@LoveYourRV5 жыл бұрын
Was in the 50-60F range during the days and 40ish at night. Depends a lot on whether its rain and cloud versus sunny. If sunny the night time lows drop a bit.

How much backing do you have to do with your trailer onto the Ferrie?
@LoveYourRV5 жыл бұрын
It would be very rare to ever have to back up, they are set up double-ended to drive on and drive off. The staff is there to guide you during boarding and unboarding. It's really quite easy. Cheers, Ray

I noticed you mentioned eating the local shellfish. Perhaps you didn't notice the sign with the skull and crossbones at about 5:27. Also the website inter-w01.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/Geocortex/Essentials/Viewer/Index.html?viewer=CSSP_Public_En_Site shows the Lund area to be all closed. In fact if you zoom out most all of the west coast is red.

I saw the closed to harvesting sign, I ate calamari and oysters at a local restaurant, I didn't harvest any myself. I mentioned eating at - boardwalkrestaurantpowellriverlund.com/ Here is a more granular map - maps.bccdc.ca/shellfish/
