This is simply beautiful pattern, thank you for sharing! I know you mentioned in a previous comment to make a rectangle you decrease and increase. Would you suggest starting the row by decreasing and then increasing on the last stitch or vice versa?
@janaytaylor2344 Жыл бұрын
Yes that how it works if you finish increasing and want to to do a rectangle just increase in the first stitch and at the end of the row decrease and repeat till you have the size rectangle you want just increase on one side and decrease on the other when you done then decreases on both sides to close it up

Hi Jenny. i began making this blanket. I wanted to make it a rectangle. i foolishly thought i had it figured out how to do it. Nope... sob. ... will you please show/tell me how. I love it and it is half way finished to the point of making it square. (had to frog a bunch). I hate having to put this aside. i love how it looks and feels. thank you SO much. i basically want it to be 2 feet wide by 3 feet long for a lapgan.
@LovinglyNie5 жыл бұрын
Hi. To make rectangle you just basically increase one of the end and decrease at the other end. I'll make a tutorial if I have time.

I love this pattern, but mine keeps coming out like an isosceles triangle. I've done it over and over and keep getting the same thing?
@severineg87023 жыл бұрын
Hi Riki - I’m butting in here. Have you done a corner to corner before? Because it naturally goes in a triangle shape until you decide the width and/or length is what you want. So it sounds like you’re doing ok.

Very nice & pretty👍❤ Please how can I do this in rectangle blanket ? Please the answer🙏 And many thanks for the clear tutorial👍👍❤

I loved doing this but I have a gigantic diamond!! What did I do wrong??
@madoulkobty97714 жыл бұрын
I MADE LIKE THIS BLANKET BUT IT CAME OUT LIKE DIAMOND SHAPE ,NOT A SQUARE.THE SIDE THAT I STARTED WITH AND ENDED AR THINNER AND LONGER THAN THE OTHER SIDES .I USED LEFT OVER YARNS AND THEIR THICKNESS ARE DIFFERENT,DO YOU THINK IS THAT THE REASON .THANKS
@LovinglyNie4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm not so sure if that's the reason. Maybe you did your 1st and last stitch are too tight.
@teresatsang54 жыл бұрын
I just finished a baby blanket and I have the same problem. I love the pattern but the blanket is not square.
@marieiuel2 жыл бұрын
Mine too! You actually need to increase/ decrease 3 hdc at each end instead of 2. Then it comes out square.

I keep trying to make this but every time it's too narrow and isn't a right angle to make a square. Idk how to fix it and it's bothering me because I like how this looks

How many hours do you think this little blanket took you? I have lots of mandalla yarn. And a grandson on the way. Stretchy and squishy!!
@LovinglyNie3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stacy. This blanket took my about 2 days (on and off) to complete. Its pretty small.
@myleerose318663 жыл бұрын
@@LovinglyNie thank you. Ive made lots of square washcloths , but I think this blanket needs an extra increase, because mine is also not coming out as a square, but would be a diamond if I finished it. No fault of yours as most anything like this has your increases. I may have to switch to a bigger hook to loosen my stitches a bit as that seemed to nearly fix the issue with my swatch.
@janaytaylor2344 Жыл бұрын
How many rows of increases you did before you do the decreases on the baby blanket
@LovinglyNie Жыл бұрын
Hi 👋 it's really depends on how big you want the blanket to be. I can't remember how many rows I made as I don't have the physical blanket with me anymore
@DenIse-km7dh3 жыл бұрын
Love this easy pattern, but it just does not work out for me, 1st one my error got stitch count wrong, 2nd time used strict markers but still not square...aaaggghhh
@aandjdusik5 жыл бұрын
Why do you go in the back loop for the first stitch and under both loops for the last stitch? Normally, whatever you do at the start of a row you repeat at the end of a row so the edges are the same. For BLO patterns I usually go under both loops for the first and last stitch for a nicer edge. Would that work for this?
@LovinglyNie5 жыл бұрын
HI Amber. I mentioned in this video on why I crochet both loops at last stitch. For me, crochet both loop at last stitch give it firmer/stronger end. You can do either way, crochet both loop at the first sts or last sts, for me it work same vice versa. :)
@aandjdusik5 жыл бұрын
@@LovinglyNie I'm saying I do both loops on the first stitch AND the last stitch. Not just one or the other so that both sides are strong and straight. Maybe give it a try yourself and see if it works the same for you. Love this blanket! Thanks so much for sharing!

@summerbabcock62883 жыл бұрын
Mine too! Any suggestions??
@marieiuel2 жыл бұрын
@@summerbabcock6288 you actually need 3 stitch increases/decreases at each end to get it square. I frogged both my efforts and then tried with dc blog and 3 inc/dec at each end and it works perfectly. I will try this one again in hdc blo with 3 inc/dec and see how it works out....
