ALL Those songs on this video gave my 1 10 inch subwoofer go super low bass on 20% volume and 2 7s and even my 8 inch also 5 inch. All on 1800 Watts and they handled it and i even raised my volumer higher on my system and it just goes crazy

to me it seemed like it dropped down a few db on downtown's lowest note, I think it's similar to how my system rolls off, so it multiplied the effect of the roll-off, as it seemed quieter compared to the other notes than when I play it directly on my system. unless your playing the slightly lower version of the downtown decafs, that one seems to be quieter on the lowest note on every system I listen too, even though it says it's 1hz lower it seems to drop off more output than the 28hz one. sounds good asf though. lemme know if it does begin to roll off on that note or if it's just the slowerr version

I have both on my phone, the lower ones lowest is stated as 26, the other one that plays louder is 27. my system loses most of its output at 28 Hz, but I suspect my phone is having a bit to do with it, the 27 Hz version played the lower notes only slightly higher than your video did, and I believe i have it on my ps3 as well, so I'm going to listen to it off of there, to see if I hear a more solid low note off of that. I should really build a lower tuned box for these sundown ev2 12s but the 38-42hz tuning of this box is so musical and sound so great down to where it loses output(in this room anyhow) that I don't want to, maybe I could improve it slightly by making sure the terminals aren't leaking. but my plan is to get a separate sub.. or two in a low tuned box on similar or more power. I'm thinking of an x series sundown 15-18 on 1000-1500 watts. in a box tuned to like 15-18 hz that will make incredible subsonic response, and fill into around where the subs currently run out of steam

and from what I saw in the video the tuning is taking effect on the lower notes as it is not flexing very much, so I'm sure it's very close to its tuning aka it should have decent output there. however I know that a sub can still struggle with low output despite being tuned low enough, my cheapo ds18 sub was in a 28hz tuned box and with the tuning it barely made any output at those notes. your subs should still be pretty decent down there though

Matt Wells The sub is tuned to 27 Hertz, thats why it does not flex as much at the lowest note of downtown,which is also 27 Hertz.

can you let me know how to decide the right crossover for your speakers. can a crossover for 50 watts speaker be used for 100 watts speaker. crossover is dependent on impedance or wattage of speaker. i am new to speaker building. kindly guide me.

Ravi Singh Hi, the power rating is basically not even a consideration. The Frequency response, off axis response, and impedance are the primary factors. I have a few videos about speaker design I suggest watching. They are a little bit advanced but I will have some simpler stuff coming soon.

Someone need to tell me, even you Doublsmm that would be the best! What would you recommend for not spending too mutch money, on the subwoofer! I saw your 10" Dayton Ultimax, it looked awesome and i really got inspired to make my own home theatre subwoofer! I now have a 8" Ground Zero GZUW Uranium in a 8" PSB SubSeries 125(The box) Since the Amplifier on it clipped and we used it as a car subwoofer, but replaced it when i kinda blew it with an 12" subwoofer and i have no idea what type it is. It looks insanely cool with 2 layers of sourround but it got no names on it, not the magnet nothing, ive tried to find it on the internet! But back to my question. Would you rather have had 1 12" inch subwoofer in the build you have, or 1 10" Dayton Ultimax subwoofer as home theatre sub! And please think about the price cause i aint got that loads of money :) Please give feedback, and give tips and tricks !
