A little tip for broom closet witches: the best way to hide your altar from prying eyes/parents, is to give it a fairy garden aesthetic/look. and if people ask what it is, just tell them it's an aesthetic/decor thing. that's what I do.

I keep mine in a cupboard with some stuff crystals and sigils to ward parents away. Very, very new to the craft so I'm not sure how well it will work but so far it's working I think. Also similarly, I've planned to call it my aesthetic crystal collection since my makeshift altar is mostly crystals, which my parents know I like anyways. If they ask why it's hidden in a cupboard, I'll just say it's because some of them fade in sunlight (which is true!).

@Nightcore Midnight• Alters don't have to be very big, I personally keep mine in a chest that's no longer than my forearm. I've seen a lot of little alters in tins smaller than your hand for travel. Whatever space you can spare is enough. I like to make a lot of art that incorporates sigils, and nature for my craft. There are tons of little things that can be easily hidden if you look around and think about it. It is your craft, whatever works works. :)

I was active-duty Marine Corps for four years; let me tell you, having to share a barracks-room with two other guys, or a squad-bay aboard a ship with fifty or sixty, didn't leave space for a lot of fancy tools. I wound up applying a lesson from Basic to my spellwork: Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome. There was a particular spell midway through my first deployment where I used a camo bandanna as the altar-cloth, the elements were represented by an MRE salt-packet, a Zippo lighter, a bottle of water, and a lit Marlboro Red stuck filter-down in the sand. My cauldron (at times also used for scrying, eating, drinking, and heating water to shave with in the field-) was a blue enameled-tin coffee mug I bought at my first MOS school.

Where the idea that you had to have so many fancy tools to practice Witchcraft came from I have no idea. Witchcraft is based in nature and has always been. Our ancestors didn't have a super store to run out to get an ornate alter cover or a jewel encrusted athame. They used what they had or made it. You really don't need a single tool to practice. If you can't practice in the open not using obvious tools is your safest bet. Thank you Olivia for stressing this point. It is one I try to get across all the time to new witchies and a few old crones as well.

Tracy Puydak I completely agree. Unfortunatly, we live in the age of consumerism. Adds teach us from a Young age, that if we get X we’ll be happy. And if we get Y we’ll be more desirable. When baby witches start their journey They Are still in This mindset and Think They need to raid an occult store in order to be accepted and qualified as a witch. But guess what: This ain’t Hogwarts. We Got No supply list.

@@katrinepetersen2566 we don't know each other , but your comment was spot on perfect . Nobody knows when they walk into my apartment that I am a witch. Instead they see various decorative items around my house that I had commissioned from Tribal Artist who create their wares the way our Ancestors would have done. So even though I am Wiccan I guess my rituals at first glance appear to be a Chickasaw culturally. I do speak Chickasaw and when I cast my circle I do so in my Tribal language. I have started changing into Traditional Tribal Elder Ceremonial or Stomp Dance attire when stepping into a ritual state of mind. I have taken recipes for different food dishes served at various times of the year and working out the kinks on creating a full Wheel of Year Sabbat recipe book. It just dawned on me that I sound like I am creating an Eclectic Tradition based on my Tribal ancestry. Chicka-Wicca anyone ? Who doesn't want to wear turtle shell rattles on their feet while shuffling around dancing in a big ass circle ? Not that different than Wiccan Traditions I have come across over the years. So I have devoted over 25yrs of study of my culture because I was not permitted to know anything about my Native Heritage . Blessed Be or in Chickasaw "Chokmah" which means "Travel in Light" .

Good news (please read this)🙏🏻 ghost and spirits are real, angels and demons are real, GOD IS REAL!! God loves us so much that He sent his Son Jesus into the world to died for our sins, he was buried and raised to Life again on the third days. No one is perfect, we all have sinned against God, and deserves to be punished in Hell for eternity because of our sins, but Jesus already paid the price for us on the cross. God is offering the gift of Salvation and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repent of their sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to Salvation. Accept Jesus today before is too late, God bless you!

DIY, plants, recycle, pieces of fabric, stones found around, jars bottles boxes (you can even make boxes or sachets out of rolls of paper). Pinterest! Colours. Do sigils. Guided meditation on youtube. Subscribe to a library or download books. Save the papers that have only been used on one side to make your dirty grimoire. Who says you can't make an offering to your deities or guides or something? Gift them a drawing. A sloppy poem.

Another good place to find little jars, coloured ribbons and candles etc is ali express, just be careful when reading how big the jars are and pay attention to how many "mls" of liquid it can hold. There are ones that are 0.5/0.7mls and that's about the size of a fingernail! So read carefully and look at the reviews for picture references. Personally I'd say smallest I would get would be 10mls it would hold very small amounts of flowers and small amounts spices and herbs. Ideally I like 20ml ones (not to small or too big) which will hold a decent amount without needing to be topped up too often but are small enough to fit a lot of them on a shelf or in a box. Hope this helps Others that want cheap and cute small jars, that aren't too small! #wonderlustcoven

Loveee this video! 💙 I have a book for daily spells & it usually calls for a bunch of foreign objects/ plants that are sooooo hard to find; THIS IS WHEN I IMPROVISE. I either use something similar or I completely use my mind & the spells are just as powerful, if not more. To anyone struggling w/ lack of tools, I’m here to tell you using your mind works wonders ✨💫

I'm a baby witch that loves dabbling in all sorts of rituals and tools from different cultures. I recently tried making my own gris-gris bag and it was a huge success. It didn't require anything that was expensive and was fairly easy to do. (You can find tutorials for them everywhere) May try again in the future but with different intent. Just here to let others know that trying new things and exploring different practices or making your own cheap alternatives can really help your craft evolve and become more YOU. Blessed be, everyone. :)

I can probably afford maybeeee 1/2. x) This was helpful, thank youuuu.

May I suggest Sculpy, a clay that can be hardened on a regular home oven. And Thrift shops are great places to score some magical things. Also, putting some sand/salt in a bowl make it into a odd sized candle holder instantly. Great ideas here. Thank you.

I just want to say this video is everything. I’ve been seeing a lot of you tubers say things like “you need to” or “you have to” but you’re keeping things very subjective and over all general and I love that. Witchcraft is subjective and in the end you go with what feels right in your heart and that’s like the general vibe in this video so go you !!! Also I just love your attitude and your energy!! Blessed Yule!!💙🌙🌊

Tip for broom closet and new witches; writing your intent around the wick of the candle before burning it is an easy spell that takes a few seconds and a pencil. I use it all the time when I'm too lazy to cast a spell. When the wax melts the words, the spell is done.

Thrift store is far more rewarding. Then it can feel like things find you over time as your practice gently evolves. That along with handmade from natural materials & finds feels (to me) more authentic & better for the earth. And honors the idea of genius loci. Never wanted to be a store bought witch - but rather a folk practitioner. Our ancestors didn’t visit stores for their craft after all. It also keeps your home from screaming “witch!” unless you want it to. 😂 I do fall for the occasional book or tarot/card deck though. 💗

Stopped by the side of the road, jumped out and was back in the truck again in two minutes with a great bow of cedar. It took me longer to talk to the tree and ask permission than anything else. Dryed it out for a couple of weeks and cut it into threeish inch pieces, flattened one side and use them to burn my rune blessings onto. I burn with an old "cut" nail and they work amazingly well! Haven't lost a patient yet... Spending money if you are tight is actually contraproductive... in my grandiose opinion...lol As always, great show Ollie, you are the postergirl... Please dont be offended by that, I just mean that your vibes are so increadibly inspiring. Thank You. Amiste

Such great and practical suggestions. I just wanted to add that when sourcing ingredients, to factor in carbon miles and ethical sources. Salt is under scrutiny right now due to the over mining and high carbon miles of Himalayan Pink salt. That said, you’ve provided a very quirky, budget friendly selection of hands on crafty items. Beautiful job. Big love to you beautiful soul 🖤🧙🏼♀️🧿😘

I enjoy this so much. I’ve been collecting different tools for almost thirty years and my very first tool was a TAROT deck and a pentacle necklace when I was a teenager and over time I came into various tools at thrift stores including a beautiful set of brass and walnut candleholders and even black glass plates and a besom at a Thrift store for super cheap and they cleanse super easy as most of these items are not used for Magick by anyone before. I used to draw pictures of tools I didn’t have and just visualized these tools in my possession and I waited patiently for them to come into my life. Using different cards from a TAROT deck for the four elements also really works.

I find making my own things to be so much more energetically powerful. I spent days hand making tarot cards and i connect with them so well. I think the amount of energy and time I put into them makes them very powerful. Same with salt. I go to an ocean once a year and every year I like to wade out into the water with a GIANT pot and ask the ocean permission to harvest water. Then I'll go back in the house and make my own salt. It's turned out to be powerful in my spell work
