If you listen to the album it seems as though the artist didn't want to go mainstream. Likely to preserve the integrity of their craft but also because they may, just not have gave a fuck. A lot of subject material the artist raps about is indicative of suicidal and depressive thoughts. Mixed with religious conflict and homicidal resolve.

​@NamesZKP I had a very similar thought, but that's what makes this such a unique album for memphis. I still find it obscure that these folk never got real popular. Their lyrics and music over-all is a lot better than anything Ive heard today.
