Ha had only one stone in his base and it was totally exposed so, if he was gonna do that, he needed to do it before Detaa came in...or build his second TC near the stone. Yeah actually that probably would have been even better.

it's a proven strategy. Blitzkrieg... Just quickly overpower an unsuspecting enemy. Zergling rushes have been around for decades ;) Same concept. You don't need a starting economy if you can crush your opponent. The danger being that the opponent basically has to sit it out while working on economy - also why Hoang gets pwnd by (top) pro players.

@@corbeau-_- Yeah, but most of players, even with a fairly aggressive play, will work on economy ^^ Like, when you drush, then make a scout rush followed by archers, normally you continue to work on the eco. Hoang strategy is not really aggressive (it happens in the mid game rather than the early game), it's just bold, because he drops pretty much any eco, relying on the capacity of villagers to collect ressources on their own, and just focus on military and micro ^^

I can say though Hoang's strategy actually can be very effective. After all he uses units that guarantee damage and sometimes he makes it great. If he didn't always wanna end the game in Castle Age and sometimes thought about Imperial, he would have been even better!

It's not. There are 2 tile walking distance b/w straggle trees and TC. While lumber camp on wood patch has zero. I think you can do the maths here.

Hey T90, not sure if you're going to ever see this, but your best videos are when you critique low level players; it's when you give the most pertinent advice without the pretension of what a "high level player" would do. Most of your audience is low level, so you end up giving the best advice when I believe you don't realize it. Cater to the audience that is most common is where you'll find the most repeat success as a youtuber :)

I'm really terrible with micro and don't eben HAVE an elo rating, but I'm surprised how these players make their decisions. Why would you build a second barracks when your opponent attacks with archers? I would build an archery range and make skirmishers. Granted: I would be crappy in the execution and probably not build enough of them or loose them due to crappy micro and loose anyway. But engaging archers with men at arms?

FWIW, in AoE2DE, the default hotkeys have been mapped to a grid layout, meaning the position of the buttons on the UI is the mirrored to the position of your keyboard on the left side. So, the first five buttons in the top row would be “q,w,e,r,t”, the middle to row “a,s,d,f,g”, etc.

This is like the cannon rush spammers in low diamond in SC2 that literally only cannon rushes. You run into him on ladder and you literally write down their names just so you know "I am playing this guy, he will cannon rush me!" After that one loss against these guys you never lose to them again but you kick yourself for that 1 loss.

T90 I watch Low Elo Legends in the chronological order. Thank you for your work. My only qustion concerna the autoscout. In the early episodes you admonished players for not using it, now you laugh at one for "auto everything".

I know this comment was a long while ago but I'll answer anyway. It is because we wants to see the players ability improve. Having no scouting at all is worse than autoscouting which in turn is worse than manually scouting. For many of the earlier videos the scouts went fairly unused beyond an initial few clicks, so for these players that cannot manage both the 'at base' game play and the scouting they should use autoscout. But T90 expressed in another video (cannot recall which :( ) that as you grow as a player it would be good to start using autoscout less and less as you become more able to manage both the 'at base' and scouting aspects. Eventually it will be easy (or at least possible) to use only manual scouting which is much more reliable/responsive than autoscouting and won't let you get punished quite as much, which he expresses in this video when the Man at Arms start invading in game 1. Of course if you're wanting to play the game for fun and not be bothered with the extra work of manually scouting, there is nothing 'wrong' with autoscouting, it is a better option than no scouting at all. Just be aware that you open yourself up to potentially having less information when you need it.

I would say yes to dock, at least on this map. And as for forging, it depends on your strategy and civ. You only want to spend resources on upgrades related to the units you're going to create. So if you are building infantry or cav, you want forging, but if you are going archers then you want fletching and bodkin.

I can't watch Golden swamp without cringing. My first game on the map i didn't dock but I pushed the center early with a Frank Castle. My opponent however did dock and had like half his pop in long boats. Then I remembered I could dock so I did and ate like half the fish. But his long boats took out all my center island castles and and military i sent to it. I then sent him a gg as I had no idea what to do. The first moment after resigning I slap my self on the head cause I could have just sent a demo or to and take out the ships. This litterly keeps me up a night.

I dont get that whole noobs don't use blacksmiths, I cherish the blacksmith and I am (after 30 games and a bunch of unrated) starting to work my way back up from my low of 609, but I have never not built or used the blacksmith. Only if I could could apply the same attention toward creating vills, it really is my biggest weakness. I don't even scout, I auto, so I shouldn't have this problem.
