i try to cut it in half using the rectangle marquee tool and holding alt and it just doesn't work, my rectangle disappears and when i ctr shift i and then delete nothing happens

i tried using average but it says the layer needs to be rasterised, so i right clicked on the layer and rasterised is then it said, cannot apply average as the selected shape is empty

Shubham Dhoot Perhaps you tried to add the low-poly effect on a separate layer, rather than directly on the image. If that's the case, then Photoshop can't take the average from the empty layer as there isn't any color at all.

I think they might have removed it! Instead try eyedropping a colour in the area, and painting - it'll produce a similar result.

I'd suggest to use the eyedropper tool to get the color from inside the triangle and then fill it with the paint bucket tool.
