This is one of my most unique videos yet! Pk and i went out during a super low tide to do a Low Tide Forage Catch and Cook. We ate some weird sea creatures including Gooseneck Barnacles, Mussels, and Periwinkle Snails.
If you enjoyed this video and want to see more let me know in the comments because it was a lot of fun. Remember when doing this to stay in regulation and make sure that the shellfish is safe to eat.

I use to forage on the Northern California coast years ago, in fact, your friends mentioned Lake Berryessa and Clear Lake. I have fished the hell out of both of them, for many different types of fish! You should really think about writing a book, you know your stuff!

Updated 2022 In Oregon: Gooseneck barnacles cannot be taken off of ANY natural rock formations along the shoreline or beaches. They can only be taken from rock jetties or anything that washes up on shore that may have barnacles attached, (ie., a log). In California: Cannot take Gooseneck barnacles anywhere in the state

That was really interesting. Out of all the times going to the Oregon coast, I never thought about eating any of those things. Well done.

This is the Oregon coast foraging video I've been craving!!! I'm headed out to the coast from Portland in a couple of days and will be catching the low tide for some foraging. Last time I was out there I was able to grab some gooseneck barnacles for the first time and I was incredibly excited! It's wild to me how most folks don't know about them -- they're so good! Thanks for the awesome video!

Man, you guys. That was a very enjoyable video. It started out with a little Jock Que Stow, (phonetic spelling obviously) (-: Anyway, I super enjoyed this, because, well... as much as I do love a good fishing video, I also love to cook, and I think that foraging is super cool. I can say I learned a few things from just hearing about the critters. I totally love how you guys DO NOT hold back when it comes to actually cooking this stuff up. I kind of expected, OK.. he's gonna pull some **** off the rocks, take a bite, move on, etc. No, you hooked it all up very thoroughly! Can I ask, when the seaweed was boiled, (the salad) did it come out rubbery, or was it actually comfortable to eat? texture, I mean. And seriously, the menu just kept getting better. I thought the seaweed salad and whatever was with it (mussel)? was the final show stopper. But no, PK is actually rolling a sushi blunt! I mean it looked like rice wrapped in seaweed, yeah? I didn't hear how he smoked the mussels though. Thanks so much for sharing this one. The fishing vids are great of course, but you can take this foraging stuff on land as well. I think that you are based in Eugene, but not sure? I was wondering what area of the Oregon coast this was? Your beaches/critters are probably pretty clean down there. Up here in Puget Sound, even if you COULD find anything alive on the beach, it would likely have 3 eyes. Thanks!

I love your comments man haha! Yeah we decided to really give these guys justice and we did. He smoked the mussels with a portable smoker that goes on the propane stoves. And yeah I am in Eugene and this was up near newport

You need more triple c videos bud. (Catch, clean n cook) love the info and experience you provide. Keep it up... And Next time you try gooseneck barnacles, only boil them for 60-75 sec, At most. Then move straight to ice water to stop the cooking. The ice water also helps the meat inside the skin shrink and the skin peels off more easily. They're far more flavorful and tender that way. Good luck bud
