I grew up in Lowell in the 60s and 70s, I now live in Berlin NH and Lowell looks nicer. We have the bare minimum of stores and services up here but I don't live in a nanny state anymore so that's a plus. Lowell will always have a place in my heart though, you can take the man out of the city but you can't take the city out of the man. Peace ❤

Mass in general is better to live as a child, not as much when you get older though. I know from being to many cities and towns and then the rate adults living there have to pay on taxes, mortgage and all that. I guess its ok if you don't mind living at home with your folks, but roommate situations and paying rent in Mass even splitting something now would be stressful.

Chelmsford/Billerica but it all runs into Lowell so I spent a lot of time in Lowell. I'm now in Columbia SC, don't live in the area anymore. I actually wanted to find the closest place I could to Lowell, just at a lower cost and less democrat run policies, even if the city itself is. Its still a good place like Lowell is to get your street drinking game on lol.

Thanks for sharing!! Enjoyed that!! LOVED the ace tunes playing in the background, too - fitting music for a tour of Lowell!! Poor ol' Lowell, not much to it to boast about. Never was much to boast about, I guess. Its once blooming industry has long gone and left the city dry in its wake. My uncle and his family lived here for several years before moving to Billerica. Actor Bette Davis was from Lowell!! I wonder what part she's grew up in? 🤔

I've spent 30 years living abroad in Asia, Europe, and all over the U.S... I now live in the country, with NO neighbors...no yelling, dogs, drugs, crime, traffic, drive by shootings, hookers, needles, mugginga, stabbings, car theft, break ins, fireqorks, NOISE! And angry people...Just watching this video is reason enough for me NOT to go to Lowell! Nope...You can have it, TY.

@smasse644 жыл бұрын
Bc of the history, the university, the old historic homes and offices, the jobs, the train station direct to Boston in 30 minutes, the easy access to highways to cape cod, Hampton by beaches and skiing in the white mountains and swimming in the lakes, all without having to pay high Boston taxes or extremely high NH RE TAXES! Other than those reasons and being a relatively safe smaller city with good neighborhoods to raise your kids... no reason for you to come here.

@@johnattincan4190 It depends. I don't think Lawrence is as horrible as people make it out, too many people speak spanish though, thats the bad thing but I like it on the whole if things like that don't get in the way. As a child when I saw a factory, a few of the white factory workers who were nice to me and gave me a hot cocoa then i looked outside at the city and thought it looked kinda like Moscow like with that church steeple there that stands out. I thought Lawrence was nice! because thats the view I saw of it a long time ago. So then I say to my grandma, hey grandma, you know a town that seems quite nice to me? shes like where? I am like Lawrence. Shes like LAWRENCE??!! Are you kidding me?? Why the hell you think Lawrence is nice for??? lol. Not for nothing but if thats the view you saw and not all the bad stuff on the news, then it might come off quite nice or at least some place where the non dominican population are at least decent and normal. I think even a few of the dominican and PR people are nice too, but a lot of them are too nationalistic with a different language. It just doesn't jive for the most part up there. New England isn't built like a tropical island or even state with the climate or modern day slavery that those people are used to. and then get in trouble with the cops because their culture is too different. For instance, I like Fitchburg very much. A lot good to be said if you get past the grit and sometimes the grit even makes it too combined with all the nice tree lined area towns outside of it. I think it made a decent list of an area to live in even due to that even though crime is listed high in Fitchburg. but there I think people blend better even than they do in Lawrence as its more laid back and heading more west in direction. Lawrence is like in the gravel pit of traffic almost and has more tension with the residents.
