Miss clear pockets as well (not mesh) but I like there are more than one on the big lid now. And I also miss locking zippers or some tabs.

You cannot have it all! The mesh pockets here are missing because you can transport skis on the two sides with this backpack! :D

I can just about squeeze a Manfrotto Nanostand in the wet compartment of my 450 AW I. But there is a very slim chance of fitting a really short camera tripod in the camera compartment. Here though in the 450 AW II, when you can remove the top barrier you will get some extra length if you want to and maybe some smaller tripods could fit. I only wish there was a half or 1/3 open barrier to choose instead, maybe you can open it slightly...?

Great review - lots of detail thanks. Just one question about your choice of wide angle lens for your headshots - it makes your head oversized on tiny shoulders - did you do this on purpose? It makes you look kind of weird. But, excellent quality footage and editing.

Have they done away with the big camera insert that I have in version 1, making the camera compartment in AW II bigger? I can’t see any insert walls, and then you took away a top compartment wall....which in theory means with your hand you can reach up to feel if you have a laptop behind there? If you don’t put a laptop (slipped in from above) in the bag, do you then gain more depth for the camera compartment or is the laptop wall to rigid/fixed to move? And it ain’t removable right? And if you want a laptop in there how thick a laptop can slide in there (if not older 4cm hp 17”)?
