I've always had back ache due to my construction job and training. But as I've gotten older my lower back seems to lock up a lot more. I've see osteopaths, chiropractors, masseuses.. I do try to stretch out and I use a foam roller too. But I just did the quad roll you showed there, with the hamstring curl movement. It's released my lower back a fair bit!

This was a lifesaver. Ive been on the sofa on my back for 2 days in agony with back spasms. This afternoon I seriously considered pissing myself on the sofa as I couldn't get my head round the pain of getting upstairs to the toilet. In the end I managed to get to the kitchen sink in time. The pain is down the right side of my lower back and rolling on the right thigh started to free it off pretty quickly. I think I can possibly stand up long enough to cook something now. Ive not been able to eat anything other than bits of fruit for 2 days. Thank you.😂 When im fully mended ill do whatever is necessary exercise and stretching wise to ensure I dont get to go through this again.

I did the exercises with my foam roller and found a positive effect almost immediately. I am still pretty stiff and limited range of motivation with a slight hunch over, but has improved with your wonderful video. I think mine is from long duration of sitting at work and a really really bad office chair that puts me in a bad posture etc... anyway, thanks so much for the info and exercises. I went to physio lately and was told sit ups and planks can make problems a lot worse. I was told to loe on my back with my knees bent and feet on the floor and arms up in the air above my chest, pointing to the ceiling. Then make sure your back is planted to the floor. Tilt your pelvis until your spine feels flat against the floor. That way your spine is supported. Now raise your feet until your knees are at 90 degrees. Now stretch one leg out (don't put your foot on the floor) at the same time reach both arms behind your head parallel to the floor. Bring your arms back up and your leg back up to 90 degrees and do the other leg. I find after about 30 on each side my stomach muscles are starting to work. But remember to consciously keep your spine against the floor otherwise you might do some damage. Hope this helps!
