YES! I had been wanting to do something from these games. I just recently played through the first two in preparation to play Super so listened to a bit of the soundtrack from it and immediately got hooked on this song. It feels like it encapsulates everything about Metroid. The adventure, the darkness, the unknown, repetitiveness that you could get lost in and of course my favorite...patience. Not to mention it plays like a grunge song and that made my day. I wanted to do even more but was time constrained so there will most likely be others from Metroid ;-)
The arrangement itself was a pure joy to put together. Everything had a clear place to sit in the arrangement and the parts fit the instruments really easily. There were still some struggles for each instrument for me. The consistency of a slower tempo always adds a bit of challenge to the mix. The accented notes and the shifting is tough for me and I kept feeling myself run out of bow during the melody so that took some calibrating and still could use more focused attention. The mandolin was...well...awesome haha.
