Well done Mick. Persistence pays off. Lovely fish. The lower severn big girls tend to be more like bars of silver than bars of gold but still gorgeous.

Nice one Mick, we bailiffed here a few weeks back and had to remove a few night time anglers sadly. Whilst talking to one of the old club members and bailiff, and others. They all say you generally catch less but definitely have a better chance of a double. When I saw that boat going past I did laugh thinking there goes Dell Boys boat 😂😂

I remember my first double barbell from severn meadows Stratford upon avon i was 14 yo fishing for small roach and chub with 3lb line and 1.7 bottom at the end of the day i casted out a massive chunck of spam tied to a 18 hook bang the line took off and this massive 14lb barbell swam straight in to my landing net never forget that barbell he was white rather than golden in colour to this day thats my biggest barbell
