Lowering a Ford Ranger 3 / 6" for cheap - How to

In this installment we lower a 93 Ranger with a 3 / 6" drop kit. Took about 2.5 hours. Install difficulty is a low medium.

Not too bad. If you get quality parts and good shocks designed for a drop kit, it will still ride good

On this model that has the twin i-beams, they make what I call an alignment bushing (or offset bushing). You essentially take the factory ones out and the new one slides back in. The best thing to do is take it to an alignment shop and have them measure it to see what size bushing you need, then they will have to install it and index them.

They make adjustable ones so you don't have to pre measure. I'm looking at Moog's adjustable bushing for when I do ball joints and possibly level kit.

Or you could do drop spindles to get rid of some of the camber if your lowering a rwd

I think this was a cheap ebay kit. If you want something better, DJM brand is a good value for your money.

Any local part store can order them. A good alignment shop should stock them as well. Theyll need to measure your current camber and caster to determine which one you need and to install it in the correct orientation

@@ballsoutperformance I have a 95 b2300(essentially a ranger) and it has the twin I beams in the front and I can’t find anything out there for it, I found a kit for the rear 5” drop and the front drop with springs, but can’t even find lowering shocks. Do you think not having lowering shocks would make it not go as low?

No, it just may not ride as good without them.
