I left Ottawa in 1962. We lived on Charlotte Street near Clarence Street. I've lived in Australia since 1965. I'm 71 now, I have children and grandchildren here in Sydney. I've travelled all over the world, but I still have family and a handful of friends in Ottawa, including a very dear old school friend. He sent me an email with a link to your KZbin channel. Jean, Thanks so much for your fascinating videos. I assume you must have worked at The National Film Board of Canada.

Why did you move to Australia?
@miketrebert7788
@miketrebert7788 4 жыл бұрын
@@evand.349 I headed out on a round-the-world trip at age 20. Everybody was heading for England at that time, so I went in the opposite direction, intending to end up in Europe via Australia, Asia, India, etc. I got as far as Australia and stayed for quite a while. I've worked on large projects in southeast Asia and have lived for a couple of years each in New Zealand and Los Angeles. My son is moving his family to Stockholm (his partner is Swedish) so I'd love to move to Europe but can't afford it yet.

@@miketrebert7788 I have a similar life experience to yours Mike, I’m 27 now. I lived in Auckland and Wellington for years. Then I moved to Sydney for half year. 2017 I moved to Ottawa and I m planing settle here for my next decade. Those places are all unique and memorable for me. I still use my vacation every year to travel around the world. I’m from China btw. I hope all is well with you.

@@wyattwang7581 Hi, Wyatt. Great to hear that you're heading out on more adventures. I'm well, my current dream is to move to France! My son has relocated to Stockholm and is raising his family there so I'd like to be closer to him and my twin granddaughters. I've been to Paris a few times during the last few years and learned to almost speak French while I was growing up, so Paris could be a way to get European citizenship. Wish me luck. All the best to you.

Lowertown looked so nice then even though I was not live then. Lowertown is now pretty rough.

PS. We moved to Kanata in 68. Dad was the first Doctor there, in the mall under the Loblaws shop.

What's with the narrow vertical band of video ? I can't turn my big monitors and/or laptop sideways to get a vertical format, but telephone users can turn their devices sideways and make things appear normal.

Apparemment, c'est un conseiller municipal influent de l'époque qui avait dit: «We're gonna get rid of this French ghetto». C'est triste. Merci pour les partages de vos montages. Très intéressant

Why have you stretched the pictures horizontally ? The result is so distorted it's hard to distinguish landmarks ! St Brigid's church is almost unrecognizable and the Parliament Bulidings are short and squat.
