Me too….I just moved from Utah where the lowes clearance was always great to southern Mississippi and our closest lowes has a terrible garden center staff…the plants right off the truck are fine, but 3 days later they look like they should be on clearance and by the time they put them on the clearance they look ready for the compost bin…I am not sure they realize they need to water them.

Seems to work pretty good at my house. It's hard to get people passionate about plants if they don't care and I'll tell you what there's got to be a passion there because it's a lot of work.

Here in Tucson, AZ our bigger electric company, Tucson Electric Department, they offer customers a big variety of trees in 5 gallon buckets for $5 each. You can get 3 per calendar year. A variety of nurseries in the area distribute the trees for TPD. Ordering all online then picking up at a nursery is easy enough. I am only planting edibles so right now that means pomegranate trees.

Dude!! So glad I found your channel- I’m on the north side of Indy and let me tell you what’s really nuts. $1 for basically all of their clearance. I’m not sure if they’re confused or just don’t care but when I say $1 I mean - petunias, geraniums, accent pots full of petunias and geraniums and money wort, ferns, hanging pots, Shasta daisies, all different kinds of salvia, lilies for days, spirea bushes, day lillies, catch fly, hydrangeas!, forsythia!!, dappled willows!!!, and I snagged a whole ass crab apple tree (and could’ve gotten two Swedish aspen)- FOR A DOLLAR EACH!!! Went last night and saw them so I came back at 6am and kept checking as I’m loading up with any worker who passed me and they all kinda shrugged and were like “yeah sure, it’s all a dollar”. I was watching your channel to get ideas on what’s a good deal and so glad that I ended up with a better one than I thought because my beds could use a lot of work and I’m getting tons of perennials. 😁😁😁 Looking forward watching and learning more from you!

You look like a crazy person is a saving a lot of money on gas and a lot of money on plants you're a money saver! So I kind of got to the bottom of the new matrix thing apparently Lowe's as a corporate company has adopted The matrix policy where they have the sign and you based on what the retail was is based with the clearance is going to be but they also have the freedom to do whatever they want as long as they have the signs posted. This area is a wealthier suburb so maybe we have less deal hunters or people looking to rehab plants when there was a very big selection of healthy plants available. I’ve had three trips and every time I approach checkout sheepishly like “you sure????” But they seem perfectly happy to move it. Added two dappled willows but don’t worry- they’ll get plenty of water thanks to your advice! 😄

Hydrangeas get somewhat complicated but they're also easy once you understand them the European hydrangeas or the macrophilia big leaf hydrangeas are going to want morning Sun shielded from the hot afternoon and don't forget to feed them the rest like the arborescence and Pinnacle hydrangeas can handle more sun and those are The Incrediballs the bobo's, limelight little limelight. In short you could probably have very good success with any hydrangea morning Sun until about 12:00 or 1:00 out of the hot afternoon.

Yes, I have also noticed some plants that I started from seed have been yanked out by the roots. If salvageable, I push them back into pot/ground and then either a) throw some rocks around it or b) find some dead twigs and stand them around the plants (like a wooden prison). Doesn't look pretty, but until the plant is tall enough or sturdy enough, the twigs are guarding my 'babies'.

I used the dr earth and 1 to 2 tablets for each new plant I planted this spring (thanks to you) my question is do you keep applying the dr earth throughout the growing season or just let the tablets take over?
@landscaperescuewithstuartm61412 жыл бұрын
I don't use the Dr Earth as a fertilizer I use it as an inoculant the two-year fertilizer tablets are going to act as supplemental nutrition and that's what you want. I used two tablets on one gallon and four on three gallon about halfway down.

The reason for the ridiculous price is because they OVERSHOT with all the plants! You can hardly walk through our Lowes garden center because it is STUFFED!

My Lowes is packed to gills too about to explode! They have way too many zone 9 expensive tropicals in a zone 6 store.

I really wish Lowe's would just go back to the 50% off pricing model. Their tiered model displeases me.
