i use both skill and craftsman battery tools! Not a pro just a DYI'er and the 12 and 20 volt tools suit my needs just fine!

Its not dishonest, it's a marketing scheme because it gets you to buy the kit thinking you get more for less. So even when your return thr free item. They still got you because you still paid . Now they can sell thay "free item"
