Amazing job!!!! I really love this one. My favorite has to be the tansu like stair railing. Genius!!!! I love that you painted it black as well. It is a nice contrast with the stair tread. The existing vinyl decal had a slight Asian feel and this stair railing went along with it beautifully. The garden trellis in lieu of the gallery wall was fantastic as well. You are very creative. I so love this series. Thank you so much for doing it.

While I like the concept of this Lowes marketing campaign, I think it could be better executed with some simple and easy fixes. (And this is really a note for the Lowes marketing team) - I've watched a few vids from The Weekender series and in each one so far, subjects in the videos are not wearing eye protection or gloves when using power tools like the Dremel Velocity, not wearing dust masks, gloves or eye protection when doing demo work in Austin, and not wearing eye protection when using a Dremel tool to bore holes into wood boards in this video. I think the location producer and stylist need to pay better attention to making sure the talent uses the proper PPE otherwise people may incorrectly assume that since Monica isn't using PPE, then they don't need to either. Also, it would be nice to have links to the products used in this video somewhere on this KZbin page. Monica does a decent job of identifying solutions to design and functionality problems in this series, but the Lowes marketing team needs to make it easier for customers by identifying which tools and products Lowes has available so that customers can complete similar projects efficiently.

I'm generally for protection, but in the case of burning holes in wood, I feel like it isn't needed. though, for cutting on the miter saw, I'd use a face shield, and not my hands 1inch from the blade.

This was great. Just thought the curtains were cheap looking. Maybe industrial pipe instead of that cable so it wouldn't sag and moore fabric so it could actually bunch up and not look so thin. The wooden side piece at the top could have been painted black too or mimicked the look of the staircase which turned out absolutely amazing. Looove it.

Love the space with its playful whimsy and indulgent artistry. What a really generous and thoughtful mom :) Apart from the privacy the curtains might afford, they make the space feel soft and cozy. I would just have liked to have seen more fabric (3x) so it had fuller gathering, and maybe some fairy lights. Great photo gallery and the finish ties in nicely with the rail (are you sure that rail height is to code?), but the Dremel detail on the steps is just going to be a terrible dirt catcher :(

I thought more of the very unsafe bit at the window, looks like the child could just step off the floor inbetween window and loft space ?? I'd have put a railing there for sure , and I agree boys love to climb and that's a great climbing frame that's just been installed, slats would have been better, maybe not as pleasing to the eye but safer.

I do like the railing for the stairs = unique, although simple, look! However, the black would NOT have been this gal's choice of paint color; rather pulling out the white from the koi fish designs would brighten the area or even the orange or yellow would add a lovely pop of color.
@muzairanwar5 жыл бұрын
Horizontal stair railings are illegal in most cities. They are unsafe because kids can climb over them and fall down. Figure i put this out there just in case someone was planning on doing this. Wouldn't meet code. Still looks good though.

I liked the way the staircase looked but the rail was dangerously low and it is definitely not up to code. Actually the loft is not up to code either. One would need to be able to stand in the center.

I kind of wish you closed off that loft more, maybe using some rice paper? it would have tied up with the Japanese aesthetic, give her more privacy, but still letting the light through. Also, it would look better than those flimsy curtains.

Well, that's fine, but at 6:33 she mentions that "she's using 2x8s to build a big box." I can see the lip on it. So can you find out if this uses slats, or does the mattress just sit inside the frame and rest on the plywood below?

Wow, I love your ideas. Anyway you could come to Florida to help finish my gutter upper? After 5 years i Still have lots of projects. But, the garage studio truly needs your master's touch. At 70, I simply don't have the stamina to finish my dream design. It's an 816 sq ft detached garage. Or. A tool and storage shed with separate solar panels would be awsome too. When the electric goes out, I have no power to draw well water in. I won't use my pool because my neighbors are carcinogenic roundup ready crazy. I put fish in there to eat up the mosquito larvae and I'm looking into putting some pond plants to give those babies a cleaner home. Inside, I have all the material I need to complete unfinished projects, but, I'm so depressed, I lost my zest to complete them. Help Please Thank you, Sabina

This may look nice but that stair railing is anything but child safe. If anything, it's an invitation to climb it and topple over. Sorry, this one is definitely a fail in my book. I've edited to add that this is the first of these videos I would consider a fail. I'm a subsciber and find most of the weekenders really good and helpful. This, however, isn't what I'd consider a success.

I completely agree I have a three and a half year old. This apartment is a nightmare when it comes to child safety!
