You know it’s gonna be a banger when Tom Daugherty is on the thumbnail

The sad part about the Vespi / Sullins match was, the shot wasn't close to what they qualified on. Bob lead qualifying and match play by 500 plus pins that week.

It’s even cooler when both bowlers have a tough game because you just don’t see the pros bowling these scores that often

More low scoring lowlights as the disaster continues... 2:59 Tom Daugherty's nightmares continues... 4:54 First 2-8-10 split 5:04 How about that, back to back 2-8-10 splits on the left lane??? 17:52 First 3-4-6-7-9-10 split 18:15 How about that, another 3-4-6-7-9-10 split???

im a 61 year old that worked double shifts for 12 years, then, when it stopped went searching for bowling prigrams such as what id been watching…and loving..my entire life. 2 games into the first broadcast i saw how unnatural the lanes, balls, and especially the bowlers…have become. now i understand why my city went from 9 bowling alleys down to 1 in that time. thank god for you tube so i can watch its history before whatever happened happened
@blakfloyd6 ай бұрын
It's weird now. Just a buncha dudes crankin it and hoping for fortuitous pin action with very little touch on the ball. Also, the equipment has made high scores entirely too easy. It reminds me of how the NFL has created this false narrative that we're seeing the greatest QBs in league history all within a 20 year span simply because every competitive advantage is given to the offense. I discovered candlepin bowling on youtube a few years ago and that sport has a hell of a lot of charm to it cuz the scores really mean something. The pins are skinny and the balls aren't much bigger than what you'd use on a skee-ball table, weighing about 2 lbs. Because of the pins' thinness, pin action is way different and you really have to earn your strikes. Carrying a 120 average is similar to a 200 in regular bowling. I definitely recommend checking out a video or two of it some time. Duckpin bowling is another awesome bowling variant worth checking out as well. Glad you've found something you like a lot too, dude. Take care.

Would Belmonte's 179 during the 2020 TOC and his 165 during the 2019 Playoffs vs Prather count as low scores for Part 3? 😏😉

Another honorable mention: The 1980 City of Roses Open Finals. Ernie Schegel beat George Pappas 181-179. The likely cause of the low games was an explosion of ash from Mt. Saint Helen's that coated the lanes in Portland with ash.
