Those blind predictions really went so well, that spawn pool into zerglings and that cyclone into aggressions was super good, shutting down the early and creating a massive lead with the counter attacks.

Damn, Lowko. These games you cast are so fun to watch, I never get tired from watching your vids; especially this one with the last match. I myself don't really play a lot of multiplayer starcraft, but watching you cast these pro games while giving out little details like about what upgrades does what or what unit is good against certain units has really made these games very watchable from a non-multiplayer starcraft player like myself. Kinda hooked to it tbh, but my micro speed is that of a snail and I'm not fast on the keyboard with the shortcuts. Still, great fun to watch your casts!

Idk how he gets away doing all his shangins at the top level. Like you would think by now pros would put a stop to this since its so often. I mean I guess finding the best strategy for a single ok player isn’t the best way to spend your time but it really could release some of that pressure during bigger tournaments.

If possible, could you cast some of the non top 10 players games... like we have seen the top 10 peeps a crap ton, but these 11 to 30 ranked players are still stupid good and honestly deserve more attention. They have some crazy builds the top guys just don't play and somehow still put on amazing games while not being the "meta" builds.

Maybe a new strat for pro zerg could be send a worker down with the main army either with roaches or ultralisk along with queens. Use the worker to make a hatch to bypass the patch so queens can’t transfuse off creep. Does require some money saved up though and macro intesive. But could spice up those 440 roach rushes. Been thinking this for a bit. Though idk how well it would go at the pro level since the drone might just get sniped.

22:42 I just noticed the main and the natural of Zerg are connected by creep even though there is no tumor. It make sense that zerg don't get a free peeperlord high ground with a defensive advantage like that. Not calling it balanced or fair but it is worth pointing out that the map as a tradeoff not just a flat disadvantage for zerg.

Why don't Terran just build offensive bunkers and load them up whenever zerg tries to expand their creep. They could also use them to block expansions.

Because most terrans play very mobile/aggressive openers against zerg anyways. With the map control/vision you get from hellions/reapers/banshees/bio, there's no real need to build static defenses all over the map on the enemy's side.

Build a bunch of offensive bunkers in expansions and in path of creep. Then watch a bunch of zerglings flood your base and kill off your workers. What you ask takes to many minerals in the early game. Also pulls to many SCV's from mining making the economy weaker.

@@hivetech4903 bunkers are free aslong as you salvage them.... build 2 on their 3rd and 4th and suddenly the zergs early expansions are weakened. Terran build them for defense, why not offense.

@@jasonlynch282 a single scv can get the job done, the scouting worker. Also bunkers cost oh so many resources oh God. Can't imagine a Terran building bunkers in pro play 😳 .... they're cheap as fuck and have a refund option. Bunkers can create extremely favorable trades such as 10 lings for 0 marines. Assuming you still build normally you can simply pick up and drop in the main when the bunker is at half hp and you can salvage it.

The stat about 59% of Zerg victories in ZvT on Waterfall, in the context of many Zerg players vetoing this map, is a classic example of misleading statistics. Lowko uses it in this context to try to make the point that perhaps Z players didn't need to veto Waterfall after all. But the Z players who don't veto it are the most confident that they'll win on this map, which should correlate with the players who are strongest on this map, therefore when Waterfall appears in ZvT games it's probably statistically skewed towards selecting the strongest Z players. In other words, the Z players who are most likely to lose are not represented. In conclusion: the 59% of Z victories on Waterfall is probably because it has selected for the strongest Z players! And *not* that Waterfall is inherently better for Zerg! Statistics trip us *all* up *all* the time. 3 types of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics.

Selection bias is the most common bias. Nearly all the statistics mistakes I notice are selection bias!

I could see the statistic being misleading if there were caveats along the lines of "59% win rate but the Z player was stronger than the T player to begin with" or "59% win rate but only one strategy works" but your leap in logic going from "confident in playing the map" correlating to "strongest Z player" is pretty wild. I guess Ragnarok can pat himself on the back for having passed the selection of "strongest Z players" though by winning on waterfall.

I know that SC2 is kind of an excessive APM game at this point, but it is still a strategy game to some extend. And in terms of strategy, law of large number apply. If a specific choice improve your chances more often than it hinders it, then it is a good strategy. So whether Terran cutting corners is justifiable have *nothing* to do whether they can be punished, of course they can. It have everything to do with how often they are punished. So using an isolated example where they are punished, and not heavily at that, as an example against it is nonsense. If you want to make an argument against it, start collecting numbers. I'm not saying your conclusion is wrong, I don't know. But your methods most certainly are. On another note, I wonder if the high ground being "smaller" than it appears is because it requiring the entire unit being within the high ground, therefore its center must be some distance away from the edge. I reckon someone need to dive into the editor or even the game engine to know exactly how high ground check are performed.

It has 400 health and can be transfused. Spore is buff enough as is.

@@jasonlynch282 It's also got 24.4 DPS compared to 39.4 DPS of a missile turret. Giving it 30 DPS instead of 24 wouldn't be game breaking. (Turrets are also 25 minerals cheaper) Just easier to deal with BC, since they absorb 20% of the spores DPS, due to 3 armor, which would go down to 15% if it got the attack buff i mentioned. The fact it's more expensive and you sack a worker to build it weighs up for it being mobile. Besides, repair or battery heals WAY more than a shitty transfuse.
