jut ordered an elite 7 chirp for the boat.May want to do a kit like this for ice fishing also.
@newyota19 жыл бұрын
I have been using my elite 7 chirp now on my boat and started to use an 8ah battery like you got but it does not hold the battery voltage as long as I want.Two batteries is a good idea.Bigger would be better.A 30ah is probably is what I should have got.The unit has 250watts output.

Thank you for your video. Would you be so kind to post the links of the transducer and the power cable you have?

On a scale of one to ten / how did your elite 7 hdi work as a ice fishing fish finder? Any info would be helpful .

Just wondering if you used this again this season?How did the batteries hold up?not a real good ice season here where I am in Pa. this year and did not get out to try my Elite 7 chirp.Ready for next season.Just have to do a bag or some other set up to hold unit and battery.May use a ammo box like another youtuber did.

great video man, I've been wanting to do this for a couple years. Any thoughts on a stopper or float for the transducer cord? The only thing I could think of was an eye screw in the wood platform with a some kind of stopper behind it and a piece of pipe insulation in front to "float" the ducer.
@BentRod10 жыл бұрын
I haven't really considered float options.. the ducer's cable is really long so what I did was fed it through the front bottom between the Elite 7 and bracket. That slot is really slim so if you coil up the extra length of the cable and zip tie it, the coiled portion can't pull through the slot. It holds it where you want it and you can set that length by deciding how much cable to zip tie in the coil. Looking into a float might not be a bad idea and there are tons of ways to do it with common objects but all you really need is a zip tie. You can email me at mfretthold@gmail.com if you'd like me to send you pics showing what I'm talking about.

how big of a board were you able to fit in there? 10x12?

I have an elite 9x chirp.. Would this bag fit it?

What was your measurements on that board you mounted that graph and battery on?
@BentRod7 жыл бұрын
Marc Hamiel roughly 8.5"x11". had to round the front corners to make it fit snug.

how long did the battery last ?

Is this the same ducer you’d use for hook 7 ?
@BentRod6 жыл бұрын
AR FISHING to be honest I couldn't tell you with absolute certainty but if I'm not mistaken both the HDI series and Hook series are blue connector ready. Lowrance customer service is pretty responsive. I would shoot them a quick message to confirm compatibility but I'd guess it's the same connection - but again I don't know.

I'd like to see it used on the ice

Good idea. I'll post one this weekend.

do u think a lowrance hook 9 fit in the bag ?
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
D Blake could you tell me the dimensions?
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
D Blake nvm I looked it up. just over 11 inches. should just fit.
@dblake53648 жыл бұрын
Im not sure. I was looking at them today. Then i ran across your video
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
D Blake I just measured and it's about 11 inches but it's not stiff so you could make it work. Bring a spare battery. powering a screen that big in the cold is taxing on a 12V
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
D Blake the battery lasted several hours. honestly I never timed it but if I went out for more than 5 hours at a time I would have to swap batteries. the bag is big enough to fit 2 12V batteries.

How much you charge to set me up? I'll buy two.
@BentRod9 жыл бұрын
do you have the Lowrance units?
@BentRod9 жыл бұрын
I know you're probably kidding but it could probably be done for about $1,520 for two. you could even get it cheaper if you bought the HDIs without the boat transducer.
