when you use genesis live on a new lake you've never fished does it save automatically to your card? how do you bring it up the next time your on the lake?

Genesis Live will start recording as soon as you turn the Genesis Live overlay on and a SD card is inserted in the unit. You will need to insert that SD card again in order to bring back up the sonar recordings

The only way I can get some temp and depth overlays is to turn on a channel that has NO ducer attached. Why?

I have just purchased the reveal 7x triple shot model. Will genisis live give me a base map to see water outline to land etc? What do I need to to to start charting lakes?

Once you have setup custom shading, is there a lake level adjustment that will automatically adjust your custom Depth 1 and Depth 2 to compensate for the current lake level versus full pool?

No, we do not have automatic lake level offset adjustment.

CMAP Insight Pro only shows custom contour colors at 200 feet overview or less. Zoom out yields the 0-depth color for the entire map. In my case red set at 0-8 feet. Appears to cooperate with Genesis mapping. Fix?

@lowrance I just purchased a new HDS-7 Live that includes the contour+ map. Been trying to get the custom shading to work but it displays all red, which is the default color for the lowest depth. Any way to fix this? Do I need that physical contour+ card even though it’s already preinstalled with the unit?

It depends on the lake you're fishing. It might not be included in your map.

If I stop Genesis Live at my HDS unit, the fine contourlines it made disappapear. Why? I want to make my depthchart without upload it on the internet, I want to use the sonardata the same moment I stop recording. How the heck do I do it???

Now I have put the sd card in my Lowrance HDS 7Gen 3 - the device does not show the card - I thought the device recognizes this immediately. Yes, you can use the Hook Reveal 50/200kHz with C-Map Contour+ cartography in the open sea.

No, that would not happened, unless you save something on it. You can now register the unit via the Lowrance app, as long as the unit is running the 20.0 software.

It seems your Hook5 might be part of the 'X' series. The 'X' is GPS only, no mapping.

Yes, genesis will also work on Hook Reveal X series. You will need to insert a SD card on your unit.

Why do you skip from unit to unit. I have a hook.reveal 7x. What the HDS unit offers is useless info.for me.

I have 2 HDS12 Live units with 3in1 and B175HW transducer. I use mostly in Coastal area off NC. I take it that I would use the 3in1 set to 200khz and open Genesis live and select Log Sonar. This would start mapping the contours on an SD card. But, later after the recording, if I am displaying my C-Map, will I see the chart updated or do I have to select the file to see what I recorded? How would I get this onto the map as I don't want to have to choose files all the time. I just want to get my C-Map chart updated.

The Genesis Live files you'll be creating will be saved onto the micro SD card inserted in the unit. Those files will visible only when that SD card is inserted in the unit and Genesis Live overlay is turned on.
