I just got myself the Hook Reveal 7 TS. It was good to see the differences between the reveal and the top models. I will not need to ever add anything to it like being able to work it in with your trolling motor to keep you in one place or any other. It was good to understand that the reveal has most of the other internal features that I would need and they are the same as the other models. This will e our first time using side scan so we are keen to get back out there and hunt some fish down. We have always just relied on our local knowledge to catch fish and Im sick of catching nothing with this expertise. So from now on we have a fighting chance. cheers for the info. Its made me now know that I am comfortable with the choice I made.

On my HDS7 about every 4-5th button press there is a 1-2 sec delay before it responds to the next button press. Is this because it's a dual core processor compared to quad core in 9 & 12 models?

I have a new Lowrance Ghost & HDS 12 Live coming in March. My Question is: Is the percentage at which the Ghost is running displayed at the top of the HDS Live screen? With my current setup, the Motorguide Xi5 with the link system into the HDS, it shows the percentage on the screen, directly underneath the Lowrance logo on the finder. If I'm driving the boat from the console area with the remote I can see immediately if I'm at 8%, 12%, 90%, 100% etc.

I have two HDS 9 gen3, can I link a new Elite 9 FS with active 3-in-1 transducer to the gen 3 9 units via ethernet cable? The older 9's have two ethernet ports per unit. Would like to know if information will share across all three? I realize the FS will have best clarity for down and sidecan. Mainly want the FS for faster map response for safety reasons. Thank You

Hi, very super cool presentation, thanks for your work. One question about the maps, for your European customers which see coast maps are included with your HDS7/9 ? do they have to buy extra maps or does it work strait of the box ?

The European units will have basic embedded C-Map and Navionics maps. You will need to have a chart card in the system in order to avail of features such as, High-Resolution Bathymetry, Custom Depth Shading, Easy Routing and many more.

Can you have two Elite FS -units connected to each other wirelessly and attach the Active Target sensor on the main unit, and mirror everything happening on the 1st onto the 2nd screen? Can you still have the regular 3-in-1-sonar attached to the device?

The Elite FS units do not share data wirelessly between them. To mirror the Elite FS you may use the Lowrance app for it. Yes, 3-in-1 can still be attached to the device via its 9pin port.

I have Lowrance HDS12 and HDS9 (Gen 2) on my boat now. I want to add LiveScope to it. Will the ActiveTarget integrate with my units or would I have to upgrade? I'm guessing the Mega360 would integrate but it doesn't seem to be the best option. Any suggestions?

You need to have a HDS Live, a HDS Carbon or the new Elite FS in order to use the ActiveTarget module and transducer. Lowrance ActiveTarget, none of the other names you mentioned ;-)

At 23 minutes in, notice the Hook reveal actually has a larger screen view than the Elite. Same with the HDS, the Hook view of actual sonar image is quite a bit larger because it doesn't have soft keys on the display. Can the soft keys be removed after you are done with them? If so, you never showed that feature. In all cases, the display always shows the soft keys, leading me to think they are unable to be removed.

I've been around all the major brands and Lowrance is the best in my opinion. It's fast and easy to get setup so I can spend my time focusing on bait selection and presentation instead of tinkering with settings all day. You see more of the fish with Lowrance compared to other brands and their screen just looks better. I've been on the water 5 decades and Lowrance is all I want or need.

ELITE FS: I I have a speed over ground on my chart page, but have no speed over water readings on sonar, downscan or side scan, all I get is three dashes. Speed over water is turn on in all of my settings?? Please help.

Speed Over Ground is given by the GPS antenna. You will need a speed transducer to have Speed Through Water.

Thanks for the video guys. I have a 2012 HDS10gen2 unit and now have added an EliteFS9 for the structure scan, running a transducer each. The Gen2 unit for fishing offshore in 60m + and utilise the 3 in 1 transducer for structure scan only. Can I still join the 2 units via the ethernet connect?

We would not advise to connect the units using ethernet as this would put the Elite FS in legacy mode. It'd be good to swap the Gen2 for a HDS Carbon.

It depends what transducer you have attached to the Gen2. Bear in mind the Gen2 is not compatible with the AI 3in1. If you're happy with your current set-up, then we would not change anything.

Thank you for using our products. The Hook2/Hook Reveal cannot be synced with the Lowrance app. Also make sure your Hook is not a "X" model, as these models do not have mapping, but only GPS.

The Elite FS has a wider choice of transducers options. The AI 3in1 transducer offers 83/200kHz for the 2d traditional sonar, no 50kHz. You can indeed use a 50/200kHz HDI with the Elite FS unit. Looks like Genesis live was available on the Elite Ti2, but not on the Elite FS -- is this true and if so, why the downgrade? I thought the elite FS was supposed to be an improvement over the Ti2? Also, I understand Ti2 used to have wireless networking but the FS doesn't or at least not to the same extent as the Ti2. Thanks

Genesis Live is a feature available in all our recent units, also on the Elite FS. Yes, the Elite FS has been updated to be networked via ethernet instead of wirelessly as the Elite ti2.

In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I have a hook2 7 TS and it's not a good unit. Half the time it doesn't work right and I'm having to factory reset it for it to work right. I wasted good money on it.

I have the same question. I purchased an Elite FS without doing much research (my bad) as I had always been a Lowrance person back in the day and just started fishing again. After purchasing, I've been a bit disappointed by the Lowrance side scan compared to images I'm seeing produced by Humminbird, for example. Is there some reason Lowrance hasn't increased the frequency on its sidescan? Helpful video, nonetheless. Thanks!

@@daved2403 the high resolution screen lowrance devices (hds) with the ai3in1 tranny on 800mhz is pretty bloody close to the mega imaging in my opinion. Not as good.. but i get some amazing images from my hds carbon.

@@daved2403 That may be an issue. The bigger the screen, the better the resolution gets. I just sold my hook reveal 7 ta on my small boat to upgrade to a 10 inch garmin echomap ultra 105sv. The images are amazing.. although I prefer the lowrance user interface and features.
