Loy Krathong is a populair lantern festival in Thailand. The name could be translated as "to float a basket", and comes from the tradition of making krathong or buoyant, decorated baskets, which are then floated on a river.

As a Dutchman and former expat living in Thailand I love to to hear this Loy Krathong song every time and so beautiful performed by Andre Rieu. Sorry to hear that many expats are leaving for Vietnam, Cambodia and The Philippines, cause of the rising Baht and strict and sometimes complicated Visa rules. I hope to return one day...just as tourist to witness with my own eyes what has changed in Thailand. Does the Thai smile still exist? Has it become impossible to live in Thailand as a foreigner? I wonder what lies ahead...I am still positive about Prathet Thai, the Thai people, their Buddhist way of life, the landscape, the culture...and positivity still is the KEY which will hopefully grant me access to countries such as Thailand ! Chok dee !

This orchestra piece shown the real peacefulness of the Thai as a nation. The first few minutes of single instrumental used drawn out the Thai tranquility. The second part stapled the unique Thai harmonious ways and the up beating last part through the language of music ritually shared the Thai happiness to all listeners. Love the new rearrangement which indeed has been well thought through ~ while still remaining the originality of the tune. Music can amazingly represent the culture, a nation and traditional way of being. Could repeatedly listen over and over to this wonderful soundtrack.❤❤😊

As a Thai person, I am thrilled and mesmerised by this performance of yours, simply because I can naturally connect and relate what I've grown up with. Unfortunately, I didn't learn you were LIVE in Bangkok. As you and some realise, Loy Krathong means to float an elaborately decorative Thai floating sculpture , purposed for paying respect to the Goddess of River, held annually in November and the song of Loy Krathong has become one of the signature songs of Thailand. I am a chinese from Beijing, I have lived in Bangkok for almost 10 years, this song flies everywhere in each year during thai Valentine's Day, it is nice song, even while the covid 19 break everything and crew stops people outside, it is still can be heard in your neighbor block, it still reminds thai people and actually all guys live here that there is still nice wish upon love and life, the rhythm is normally vivid but also can be peaceful. I love listening to André Rieu's songs. They are so beautiful and really do have a way of touching your heart. When listening to this song or one of his best songs 'You raise me up' it reminds me of someone I love and care about but also sadly miss as they have now died. But these 2 songs remind me of the good memories I have of her. One day I would actually like to hear both these songs in person if André Rieu comes to the UK.
