I enjoyed this video… I own a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback that I have owned for 51 years. I have driven it over 680,000 miles in that time. I have also heard numerous “Mustang stories” over the years. It was a daily driver until two years ago when I retired it. I’m still working… it’s been a great car and still lots of fun to drive. The car gets lots of love from people with thumbs up and horn honks. I’ve had people scream when they saw the car, which can be scary! I totally understand how you feel… People who don’t get it, never will. Enjoy your car… she’s a beauty!

The best mustang story I've seen on ytube I've had my mustang 1965 fastback for about 40 years 👍

I still got mine too. I bought it in 1971. I was 18 years old. 1966 GT 350 . Turning 70 in May. She getting a complete restoration. She is mine bady. I still dont how to act in front of a judge when i get a speeding ticket. I had only one ticket in this car. When i get back into her my youthful years are coming back for sure. She is fast intimidating and she got the looks too. 1966 Candyapple Red with white stripes 4 speed Gt 350 Fastback with only 69,000 miles on it. Second owner. Its so funny my sister 3 years older than me had a Canary Yellow Gt Fastbask black interior a bad ass sleeper with a Hipo 289 engine with a beef up automatic trans. This car would beat almost all the cars at high school my sister went too. Then my younger brother had a 1965 hard top with a 289 Hipo in it too. So mustangs was the car we all three had when we was young. Now today i am the only still has his in my garage. Ford made a car that so many Americans fell in love for so many years. Still yet today the Mustang is still loved. So many memories that i will always treasure.

Sorry for the delay, but I love your story! I was fortunate enough to buy my Fastback and thankfully my friends made this video. I wish I would have purchased the 66’ Hertz GT350 I found in 1985… but I got my car!

"Everyone's got a Mustang story." ... Personally, I think this particular story is one of the most compelling Mustang stories I've heard thus far. I truly admire his loyalty to the car and the fact that he drives it the way it should be driven.

When I was 24 years old I fell in love with the fastback. At 44 I have one in my barn waiting for restoration, it was originally a six cylinder but has everything 289. Can't wait until I have the financial means to finish it and take a road trip! Everyone tried to buy it from me, haha! I also have a 69 C-10 short wheelbase, same story, everyone tries to buy it too. LoL.

Damn. We need to hang out. Bought my 66 fastback 23 years ago. Still have it but rarely drive it now. I have great friends but they’re not car people. It’s a bad ass car with what I’ve done over the years. Nothing that couldn’t be brought back to stock. It has surprised a few new muscle cars when I actually drive it. But anyways I’d like to hang out with some peoples that isn’t sitting in lawn chairs talking shit about someone else’s car

I was wondering if you could tell us..what size / brand brakes, and wheel size...17s? They are beautiful and perfect and I am looking to upgrade an old 69 fastback to disc (from drum) but am having great difficulty figuring out what to get, but you have it nailed down! Please, and thank you!

My apologies for the delay, I had no idea this video had comments. The wheels are 17”x8” Americans. 245 45 17ZR but it honestly needs more tire height. Your 69’ is a very different animal, you can put much bigger wheel and tire combos on them than 65/66. I narrowed the 9’ rear 1” and rolled the inner fenders and they just fit. I’m going start track days and will be changing to an original Shelby setup with 16” wheels and Hoosiers.
