I've found this song as I was going through Adele's Easy on me covers and it's such a confirmation. I've been with my boyfriend for so long. He's done sooo many things that I'd forgiven with the hope that we'll get there (where we were in the beginning) he recently got his ex girlfriend ( also baby momma) pregnant again. And I didn't take time and process anything because I didn't want to lose him. Because I believed that because he told me before I ever got the chance to find out, so he must care about me. I realized today that I will always excuse him and defend him, even to myself. I'm a bodily insecure person and I see that one of the reasons I stay is because I feel accepted by him in a way I do not accept myself, a way I think the world doesn't accept my body. My ex-girlfriend went to pharmacy school last year and said she needed to distance herself away from me. We had been arguing a lot before then about communication. I just wanted to love her forever. It was the first time I experienced someone nonfamily love me in the beginning. I thought she was the one I was going to marry. But when everything was good, I received a revelation she will leave me. I did everything I could to try to be more than enough. One thing that I battled with is how her ex traumatized her and I lived in his shadow to prove to her I wasn’t him. She even compared the ways I loved her to things he did. I was blind she didn’t heal because I loved her. So many variables besides her and I... Did everything in their power to paint me as a bad person. They won whatever plan they had devised. I saw them all in my dreams. Three months after the distance, she would call to check-in. Within the 6 month mark, she said I want to introduce you to my mom in due time. At the 8month mark, she called to look for strength to keep pushing on with her rigorous program. Now a year later… she keeps hitting me up randomly for small talk. The last time she texted me she said God sent her two songs about my current season. My God will not be mocked and used as a base for confusion.
