Basketball is a different sport. Has less players, less variables, upsets happen a lot more often as there are 30 games. If alabama played Tulane in the first round of a 64 team cfb playoff, it would probably be like 60-3. The basketball equivalent of that score in basketball would be like 140-28, which has probably never happened in March madness.

March madness usually ends with big schools like fbs but making fbs into a 32 team tourney would make room for teams ranked #19-30 to move on deeper in the playoff
