Quite a story of resilience, resurgence, and redemption for Patty. She earned only two top-10 finishes on the LPGA in 2023, and finished in last-place at this very Honda venue last year! She improved 29 strokes from last year's eight over-par performance!

I’ve been critical in the past of the highlights shown (too many short putts and just putts, few actual shots and no drives off the tee) but I’ve got to give credit to these highlights. I’ve checked out for a few months but these highlights are awesome and I’ll have to start watching again. Patty T when on song is worth watching. Lovely swing and her driving is something else.

The most balanced swing and smoothest tempo on tour, effortless power. How did she not win in three years? Just shows how talented the ladies are.

For someone that pushed Tavatanakit to the brink, and finished this tournament in the runner-up position, Albane Valenzuela certainly didn't get much coverage in this 4-day overall event. The writer in Golf Digest couldn't even get her nationality right, calling the Swiss player, a Swede! 🤷♂️
@ksmyth9999 ай бұрын
That is about par for the typical ignorant American. A typical comment by an American on learning you are Swiss (I have dual Swiss and GB nationality) is: how is your queen? I have followed the growth of golf in Switzerland from the 1980s as a very exclusive and expensive sport with little chance of someone like myself having a chance to play, to a people's sport to-day. There were three significant developments. Firstly one or two new courses just over the border in Germany and France decided to open at least part of their facilities to the paying public. Secondly, a couple of golfers from the French part of Switzerland saw the potential and started a club for non-affiliated golfers. For a small yearly fee, they provided a "handicap" card which was acceptable to the small number of open clubs over the border. But the most significant development was the decision of the Migros supermarket chain (who also had their finger in other pies, e.g. sports) to start building public golf courses. These have been built to a high standard, some to championship specifications, and have plenty of training facilities. One or two other private organizations have followed suit. In addition, most of the stuffy old established courses have opened their doors to the paying public, although often at an exorbitant green fee cost. Money has flowed into the sport in Switzerland so interested youngsters get some early opportunity to train, with the best typically progressing to a golf college in America. The fruits of this development are now starting to be seen in the professional world. The best Swiss female golfer is Albane Valenzuela. There are also the Métraux sisters, one on the LPGA tour and one on the LET. Some female golfers have just qualified for the LET tour. There are also a number of male golfers on various tours. I have also been a little frustrated that the Swiss golfers have not been adequately covered on golf broadcasts. There are still, of course, not that many of them, but hopefully with further successes the coverage will improve.

nelly just content to play in florida these days i notice ? whilst the rest of the tour endure the tough tropical crushing humidity of this asian swing ? going soft ? i see she aint teeing up in singapore.unbelievable,as if she hasnt got it easy enuff with 5 tournaments in her own backyard in florida let alone a 3 month straight american swing beginning mid march,it should be if ya dont tee up in at least 2 of these tournaments in either Thailand,Singapore or China your then excluded from playing in the first 2 x U.S. titles following China,thats just my take
@gunner-qf9eh9 ай бұрын
@TheMicturation Did Nelly dump you in college or something LMAO! Based off your lack of punctuation, and grammar, it's obvious you have a personal problem with Nelly Korda, and you are a bitter basement troll. There are plenty of other LPGA members who aren't doing the tournaments in Asia. Why did you single out Nelly? Out of the CURRENT Top 50 in the race to the CME Globe, only 24 played in Thailand. So based off your idiotic comment, the other 26 wouldn't qualify for the first two majors. LMAO. Yea ok bud. Thank God the LPGA isn't stupid enough to listen to you. Comments like yours makes me happy we have social media. Because the worst thing you can do to Nelly and the LPGA is click, view, and comment, with zero bearing on what really happens. Do us all a favor and stay in your basement where you can do no damage to anyone. Have a nice life. LMAO.
