I don’t know what you call a “true” deadhead. I consider myself one. Saw about 50 shows between 1987 and 1991. I love what she’s doing. I would go see this 100 times over vs Dead and Co. So much energy. For some reason people think Jerry was some kind of curmudgeon. He always pushed the envelope and appeared to love cutting edge technology. MIDI for example. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it? Just like I choose not to see Dead and Co. if you love it do it, if you don’t, walk away respectfully.
