Hello Aaron, and since it’s the first time I’m commenting, I want to thank you for your useful videos! I’ve really been waiting for a hifi duet comparison from you (I guess you’ll make a review video as well in the near future)! I got myself a new 000-18 and I’m doing my research on the ways to get my guitar plugged in so that I can play with my band. I’ve already ordered a fishman rare earth blend from thomann but it has a 6-8 weeks of waiting time. Hearing this demo, here are my first thoughts. I’m hearing a nice pickup, but I’m not really sure it is up to my expectations. It feels like I’m hearing something like a bit of delay, when the silo mic gets in the mix? Something that makes the sound more artificial than “natural sounding”, if you know what I mean. I was also comparing this to your fishman rare earth blend video, and REB’s “only mic” mode is definitely better to my ears. But having said that, the “hifi only” mode seems better than REB’s magnetic pickup. But I don’t know if that only justifies the pricier hifiduet. I’d really love it if you did a hifi-duet vs REB as well in one of your videos. Sorry for the rant, and thanks again for everything, keep up the great work!

@@lefteros Try a Martin Retro series D 28 much bigger than a Tripple 0 ...I know but the sound is impressive for recording. When playing live, put in a sound plug. Cut it if you use a mic for the guitar sound live.

I appreciate that you actually strum rhythm with your demo. So many demos are just like bluegrass riffs that never show how the guitar sounds being strummed in rhythm.
