I would still add some type of shade. We all know that you will keep growing. If the sun hits those black tubs, they will get too hot. I painted a liquid transport tank black so it wouldn't grow algae. But the sun hit it for a couple hours a day in the summer. It got about 100°f. And that's up north in michigan.

Wow that's some serious summer tubbin.

I think you will benefit immensly with some sorta DIY net-shade over thoose tubs.

Seeing netting over them isn’t very enjoyable to me plus could hold heat in and absorb it

For years I would set up a 400gal with 75 gal set in middle on blocks I used a pond pump have it fill the 75gal so it over flowed into the 400gal. Worked very well water was clear. Produced so many fish was a money maker.

Sounds nice

great set up as always.that would be so rewarding once you see the tubs filled with fry. id love to have a tub on my balcony but it gets the morning til about 10-11am sun.i think it would be too hot AUS summers can be brutal.
@LRBaquatics6 ай бұрын
Some of them are full of fry now and it is very rewarding. If it only gets morning sun you should be alright with a proper type fish that doesn’t mind the heats

@@LRBaquatics thats awesome mate. i might set one up in a few months when summer is approaching and test it out. only way to know for sure right.

Yeah I thought about doing more action shots but I was really crunched for time plus some people don’t look my lengthy videos of me digging and carrying a bunch of buckets.

I did think about doing it live but would have needed to probably wear a shirt but didn’t want to wear a shirt in the fl sun 😄

14 of the 110s and 38 of the smaller ones. I’d like to but idk when. A lot of other things to focus on right now.

Rock on...! I've been resetting a bunch myself... Keep up your awesomeness...! I prefer the Rubbermaid 100 & 300 gallon tubs over those 110s, but hope all goes well for ya... PS... I use shady cloth to produce my shade for tubs... yes are way too messy...!
@LRBaquatics6 ай бұрын
Yeah those Rubbermaid’s aren’t cheap
@kurtisstutzman70566 ай бұрын
@LRBaquatics They were only $10 bucks more at the Sarasota TSC, but I don't buy a gazillion of them at one time...! So, I gotcha, just keep up your awesomeness & thanks for sharing...!

Random question, with the filterless planted tanks or FF/LRB style filterless tanks do you ever get a film on the top of the water and how do you deal with that?
@LRBaquatics6 ай бұрын
Rarely. Only one I tend to get it in anymore out of my hundreds of tanks is my axolotls tank but guessing cause they excrete more slime coat than fish. Other than that the microbiology takes care of it more established it gets.

If i was just going to transfer about 30-40 longfin danios to a tub with a bunch of plants, would you recomend the smaller or larger tub?
