If the LRC and LRC coaches could speak, they'd probably be crying after being apart for over a decade. LRC coaches being pulled by the F40's and P42's just doesent look as good as a LRC pulling its proper coaches

Welcome back to the fastest train in Canada! I'd hate to see it stranded in the Toronto Railway Heritage Centre, it should be running excursions on the main line!

reaperexpress I agree. At least let it do a Kingston sub tour once and a while. Makes no sense to spend the money to restore it to operating condition only for it to go back to doing what it did before the restoration. Just sitting there doing nothing.

Nice to see one LRC engine preserved. I worked the American LRC train from Boston to New Haven, Ct and it was an interesting locomotive. The only thing I didn't like as an Engineer was the slow rate of acceleration whether from a dead stop or from idle to full throttle on the move. She had the power though I always wondered why Amtrak couldn't repower an F40PH with the ALCO power package as they were much quieter and used less fuel than an F40PH did or just build a new passenger locomotive with the 251F V-16 even though it's showing it's age now.

I'm glad to see the 6917 running from it's own power,I gaved few doantions to TRHA and I reserved my LRC,6917 with sound,and my friend reserved the 6921..I choosed 6917 cause it's the only one that are fully operational,and also,becuse when buying 6917,Rapido Train keep an amout on the price,for TRHA to preseve the 6917,I think it's time to do a run on the corridor,what about Toronto to Montreal,then to Quebec city,and come back,an do it in 2016,to commemorate the LRC Bombardier locomotive,that have been retired from service in 2001..

I remember when 6910 with last minute hand brake adjusting, half of her still in Montréal Bombardier´s plant, and half of it outside on her delivery day. Few hours later, passing west in Montréal Nord going to VIA. She will never pass there again and will be scrapped. Clean, shiny, spiffy and brand new ! The plant too was demolished.

I wish I could see these in Oshawa, all I ever see is F40's and P42's zooming trough oshawa with Renaissance carriages, and sometimes LRC cars, and once in a while, Blue VIA rail cars, like the kind used with the blue and yellow FP7s and FP9s VIA rail used. Another locomotive I wish I could see is the FPA-4
@tacoblend32468 жыл бұрын
+Matt Brine Here in the US, the F40's are nearly extinct, the budd coaches are gone and you guys are lucky up in canada since you don't scrap everything that doesn't work anymore. Some days I wish I could go to your country for railfanning.
@j_eldridge8 жыл бұрын
+Jagged bacon I agree. I am Canadian but I went on a cross country train trip from Portland to LA and I only saw the F40 once on the train from Portland to Boston. The P42 is basically the flagship locomotive for Amtrak. But you guys have electrified trains like the AEM and the ACS-64.
@tacoblend32468 жыл бұрын
That's true, but scrapping things like the AEM-7 are unceremonious and even though they're a big staple of amtrak's history, nothing was done to preserve them properly (I.E, left outside.)

Just so I can learn about the LRC, why is there a difference with the bell on the actual unit to the bell on the Ho scale model. My LRC says it was recorded sound from the real 6917 but my bell sounds nothing like that. My bell rings like a railroad crossing tempo.
