Worked for 38 years as a high end refinish tech. I was lucky...Maybe....to not be sensitive to any of the chemicals except body filler. It always gave me the worst headache. My wife could not even enter the shop environment. It would make her ill right away. Her skin would turn red and she would start shaking and getting confused. It was a good reminder of what I was really exposing myself to, all for money. Now I am old, I cant stand any of it. I used to find the scent of nail polish kind of erotic, but not now !

I worked in a body shop 50 years ago. I had to give it up the paint we were using back then started causing severe allergy issues. Funny these new paints cause no issues. Now anything petrol bases is an instant sick feeling. Diesel exhaust even a kerosene heater does it. Maybe it was all of those years where I drove and operated diesel equipment.

What's a *Sebring Kit???
@DavidGyke-co2utАй бұрын
A Sebring kit removes the front valance, both bumpers and gives the car a smooth look. Some versions I hear were used on race cars. Some of these kits are plastic or fiberglass to remove the bumpers and some had larger wheel flairs. I have a parts/donor car that is going to give up the metal for the Sebring look. Next week, I should have the parts car cut up and the metal here.

I lost four hands on video's on the flairs. This was the only one that survived and it was on my I phone. Today, I am going to set up two go pro video camera's and try again. One hour, I spent showing the bondo/body fill use with red, blue cream each sets up at a different pace. Then the fiberglass resin added to the bondo which makes it as runny as honey but allows you to thin coat the product. Now one flair is ready to be hand sanded and feathered in before the 5 inch wide bondo/resin coating. One is ready for its 3 inch wide coating, and the last two are at 2 inch wide coating. All of the guide tape was been pulled. Lucky for me, I can set up again and show hands on the different drying time of each application and how to control that time. Red, blue cream and resin added to the product to get the desired finish.
