I'm glad to see you went with aluminum. Stainless steel is a terrible thermal conductor which means it takes longer for it to remove heat from the source. Thats why you almost always see cold side stuff exclusively aluminum. Keep it up.

Looks just like the intake I made for my swap. I told you the 4 inch pipe fits behind the head light. I did put a bracket on the pipe to keep it from moving around in the area below the head light.
@matt13ross

Probably will do a bracket once I assure that his is the final intake setup.

Great job on the car. I'm contemplating widebody. I contemplated LS1 too, but went turbo and looking for traction. Don't forget to fix your glovebox sag ;-)

Looking good!!! Can't wait to see the freshly painted rollbar back in it and then see some driving videos. The South East has had some really nice weather lately. Actually brought the M3 home for a week which was nice. Keep up the great content!!!

Great job... but.... Won't the filter suck the "heat" from the hot road since it's really close to it?
@matt13ross
@matt13ross 2 жыл бұрын
Nah, it's above the bottom of the bumper. Much cooler than the hot engine air trapped in the bay.

It's so fun learning new skills while building a car. I need to practice my welding. There are so many gives and takes with swaps. I opted to run a smaller filter but to keep it near my fog light. I removed the fog light and put in a blank with a couple small slits to provide air to the filter. IAT runs ambient. If you don't like your placement of yours, you can install it on your intake tube. It will read the air flow as it's in the stream. That's why you can put pressure sensors anywhere, but temp has to be in the flow. Are you going to install the radiator ducting around the front? If not, I'm curious what your idle coolant Temps are when it's hot outside, over 90.
@matt13ross
@matt13ross 2 жыл бұрын
I'm going to do some kind of undertray at least, not sure on other ducting yet. I also need to get A/C in this thing. I will definitely report on the IAT when it warms up.
@BrentonaBike
@BrentonaBike 2 жыл бұрын
@@matt13ross it would be sweet if you do a fully ducted radiator vented through the hood. Mostly so I don't have to figure out how to turn the flow up, ha
