Short answer yes it's a lemon. 2nd answer from experience as a tech for over 40 years is they have incompetent techs working on the tractor. There is no excuse for this problem to go on for a year. 3rd answer it is a wiring problem or the ECM itself. Intermittent failures are often ECM related or a bad connection in the wiring harness. Danny you have the patience of Job!! Take care and I hope you get it fixed soon or they replace it..

I'm sorry you are having this trouble Danny. You are doing the right thing by documenting everything and being patient. I'm afraid your getting close to the point of hiring an attorney. Keep on top of this and demand a resolution, don't let this get pushed to the back burner. I bought a L3830HST Kubota in June of 2006, it currently has 750 hrs and has required no repairs, it even has the original battery. I do all the maintenance on it and take care of my equipment and it has taken care of me. Once again, sorry that you and Wanda have to go through this worry and stress. I hope it's resolved soon.

It's not the emissions and computers - it's the "we need to sell parts and service" mentality manufacturers have now. Back in the day, you made a tractors that would entice a customer to buy another later, because the tractor made its keep, the customer would buy another. Failed obsolesense is the business strategy now, with transmissions made of crap steel or worse,bucket, front end, suspension, you name it - made, or engineered really, to fail early. I remember looking at craigslist for a couple of months and seeing all these cheap tractors, with blown trannies, and realizing it's the current game, and dont buy one, make them change their game, or go out of business.

I also have a XR3135 and like you I really like the tractor and it does everything I need it to when it is running.I had the dealer I bought the tractor from go under shortly after I purchased the tractor. When I needed it worked on by the dealer, I had to go north about 75 miles 1way because the dealer in Petersburg will not work on a tractor they didn't sell. Seems like they should work on any tractor, especially if it is still under warranty because they are supposed to be a legitimate dealer.The second time, I was told it had the same problem. By this time I had owned the tractor about 3 years and out of those 4 years it had been broken at least 1 of those years while trying to find someone to work on it and being in the shop. The dealer in Fredericksburg finally took it in to be worked on, and this time, they kept my tractor for a while and did several things to it like they didn't know what to do to fix it so they were trying everything. I got the tractor back and it ran about a month before dieing yet again. By this time the dealer in Fredericksburg had stopped being a dealer and I would have to take it to another state. I am so frustrated at this point I just put the tractor issue to the side and had to take a break from it. At this point, because of inability to find someone to work on it to figuring out how to get it to them to just sitting at the dealers my warranty was up. A new dealer opened 30 or so miles away from me and I had a tractor that was over 5 years old that had less than 100 hours on it because it wouldn't run long enough to cut the grass. I contacted the dealer and set it up to bring it in to be looked at. After seveal months in the shop I get a call that the wiring harness was bad and so was the injection pump. When someone was testing the wiring harness had messed up the plug for the pump. The tractor also had water and dirt in the fuel which I didn't understand because other than being at the dealer I was the only one to fuel it other than the dealer in Fredericksburg. I bought 2 new 5 gallon diesel cans when I got the tractor because I didnt own anything that ran on diesel. As a matter of fact to this day I have both cans and they are clean inside and out. The crude in the fuel had ruined the pump so since so much time had passed trying to get it fixed it was no longer on warranty. After about a $4000 dollar repair bill which would have been more had the dealer not repaired the wiring harness I got my tractor back. The tractor has run like it was supposed to until last week. The suspect is the turbocharger but I can't take it to be looked at because my dealer is a1man show and is on a well deserved vacation. Bottom line is the Tractor is a good machine that has design issues. Don't let anyone work on your equipment unless you are sure they don't just have the jobbut also has the education to back it up. Having a good reputable dealer is very, very important. Use the tractor as much and hard within reason while it is still under warranty. I could have easily bougt a different color tractor for what I will have in this tractor after this next repair

I have not yet watched your subsequent videos, but I will when I have the time. I will tell you that you are infinitely more patient than I. There is nothing more frustrating than having a job to do (with your tractor), and a malfunction continually interrupts your work schedule, particularly when you have done your due diligence in maintenance. If this were an automobile the lemon laws would have required a manufacturer's buyback after they picked it up the third time - and you certainly shouldn't be on the hook for the transportation expense. I look forward to how this plays out, and hopefully the dealer and manufacturer will do right by you.

Tractors today have all the bells and whistles but are not user friendly to fix. My tractor may not have all the amenities, but I can at least workout it. I will keep my old Massey Ferguson. Good luck.

Thank you Danny for informing us about this tractor. Sorry y'all are going through this. Maybe if other people would have got the word out about all the problems with these tractors it would have saved y'all a lot of trouble. Just my personal opinion, but all the modern day computers & technology just doesn't mix well with the dust and dirt that you get with farming. I think the older ways & equipment just works better, or at least it's more reliable. We have an old 8N tractor, yes it need a good over haul at the moment. But the older tractors take a beating and keep on going. I could not imagine trying to put up hay with all the dust and grime that comes with it with a computerized piece of equipment. We live in the middle of a 5 mile stretch of gravel road and it reeks havoc with our auto mobiles and they're computers. Paul & I can't wait to see y'all next week.

You've been so patient with that Company. I'd've blown my top way before now and demanded a replacement or a refund! It's been too long now and you'll need small (I know it's a BIG issue) but small claims court in the USA because of your 'Sue-ing' culture probably covers the cost of a Tractor, to get your money back. Thankfully you'll have paperwork to show that despite all they said they did, it didn't fix it & all the downtime those trips ate out of your warranty period. I hate that you're going to need a lawyer to get your money back but I think you will need one. I've been with you through every day since the day you got it, and you were both so excited to have the extra help, bearing in mind this is supposed to do the 'heavy lifting' that you & Wanda will need help with in the next 10 years or so, if it's unreliable since Day 1 you've got NO hope when you're in your 80's. You are calm and reasonable beyond any normal expectation. I suggest returning the tractor. If the finance company gives you any grief, use the small claims court then civil court. LS has a good rep. They can give you a new tractor or take back their lemon. Always state the cost of time and loss of labor due to the machine failing to meet minimum operating statements.

I have the exact same tractor, purchased new a couple months earlier than you bought yours. I have the 12x12 transmission, although that should be irrelevant regarding motor problems. I have about 120hrs in my machine. My unit had regened at 40hrs, 80hrs and I am expecting another Regen anytime now. I have had no mechanical issues. I will note that the taillight wiring seemed to cause a little light flickering. I put dielectric grease on the rear electrical sockets and it seemed to have corrected the issue. I tend to not use the foot throttle. I set the throttle at 14-1600 rpms and change speeds with the transmission. My dealer indicated that running the engine below 1400rpm may cause excessive carbon build up in the exhaust. I also run additives for lubrication and cleaner burning. My motor purrs like a kitten. You guys have got to be the most unlucky tractor people I know. You didn't mention it, but I watched your initial problems with your first ls that was leaking oil. Kubota had some major problems with the Regen technology. My one bit of advice, regardless of tractor color, buy from a good dealer. If they treat you poorly while buying it, don't expect service to be any better. Korean tractors are some of the best in the world. I hope your dealer helps you get your tractor to where it should be.
@Woodsygirl625 жыл бұрын
IF IT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU.. THEN .. IT IS NOT WHAT YOU NEED..BECAUSE YOU NEED ONE THAT WORKS...IT SHOULD BE YELLOW. IF ITS UNDER WARRANTY, TELL THEM YOU WANT A ONE NEW, TO REPLACE IT...I NEVER OWNED A TRACTOR.. BUT IF I HAD ONE LIKE THAT ONE...IT'D BE GOING BACK IN HEARTBEAT...

Good morning Danny and Wanda: It sounds to me as though you need a 'lemon law' down there! Here in Virginia we do have a lemon law which I think applies to tractors as well as all automobiles (and motorized vehicles). You certainly have had more than your share of problems. I hope you get satisfaction either in repairs or in a replacement tractor.
@jamesmanley95215 жыл бұрын
A tractor is not helping you if it is not dependable. You are not a commercial farm, but it is more important the tractor can be counted on. I bought a LS on you recommendation, this was after your first LS, I got the next size up and have had very little trouble, it looked like I had a oil leak then it stopped. My sincere hope is LS will work for us and that they will do the right thing for you. I really vale CustomerService, I would like to be able to trust in customer relations.

One thing I learned the hard way that even when dealing with a major manufacturer it is absolutely necessary to document everything and I mean everything! Never walk out of a dealer repair shop without a very detailed invoice of work done. I had a major auto manufacturer tell me that the warranty wouldn't cover a problem because it had only been reported once. The vehicle had actually been in no less than 6 times and I was told each time it was fixed or there wasn't a problem. My vehicle was in the shop for 23 days for a single issue and that was the 3 rd time for that issue.

Danny,I believe you have been far more than patient with this problem. If its a LEMON, then they should replace this troubled tractor wit a brand new one. Ive never been one to search my legal rights and therefore I don't always trust lawyers, but it might be time to get legal counsel. This is ridiculous being put through what you have been thru. It is very nice looking tractor and i know their products are as good as most anything out there but your time is as valuable to you as theirs is. Good luck Danny. Wish you all the best.

Danny I’m a Brit and live in France. Your tractor offers as you say all the functions that you need when you’re doing a variety of farm/building jobs. I bought a professionally refurbed MF135 at 7£k could have added a loader and auxiliary hydraulics I guess for 1£k. It’s old school and works fine. I also bought a 2006 Kubota u25-3 excavator cost 10£k seen better days but does what I want. Your tractor when working would do almost all that my 2 machines can do. No doubt a new kubota tractor would be a great buy, but god they are top dollar. So just get tough with LS use the lemon law and quickly. If you get your money back buy a professionally refurbed Massey 135 with attachments. There must be a rebuild business in the states, though shipping from uk would only be about 1k dollars. Or raise the extra cash for the kubota, cos I tell you they are built well. Forget the “itchy fanny tractor factory Guangzhou” until they get it right. And they will in due course, meanwhile trump will increase the tariffs as he should. Kubota have a plant in the US. Good luck Nt

Danny I would suggest instead of asking them to look at it and fix it ask for a new one. As you said some have had issues with it some have not. Maybe yours is a huge lemon and the only way to fix it is to replace it.
