That was FANTASTIC. Would love a Step-By-Step in depth for each stage of the build, but I realize how time consuming that would be on your behalf. Thanks to you and Rex for this great insight, the care and the expertise you both put into your builds is admirable.

Thanks for the feedback! I do plan on doing a similar series to what you are chasing, I was only going to release it to members only though. We have big plans for very in depth educational content for our members

Main cap and rod bolts are not to yield and are reusable but they are torque angle.. side skirt bolts are TTY.
@BoostGumps11 ай бұрын
They 100% are TTY

What about using 706 heads?
@th3ch33t5 ай бұрын
When I installed a Melling oil pump, I couldn't fit the feeler gauges in, so instead I barely snugged the bolts and turned the engine over two full rotations by hand. I don't know if it's right, but I have over 20k miles on that pump now and it's still going strong.

how much for a engine go over maybe freshen up along with small or mild cam fitted

tryna be on a budget too less than atleast 5k as anything more id rather sell n just get a cammed ss as i could get one for the same price i paid stock for it

i about to undertake one of these where is the best plate to get all the torque specs for a ls2/l77

Very informative Vid, there is a Mod I've seen done on the Crank oil journals. Basically open them up at the edge to ensure more oil feed. Have you come across this one? Cheers from Northern Rivers NSW

By using double chain timing belt , do you have to upgrade the timing cover to fit the new timing chain and oil pump ?
@Sirruthford2 жыл бұрын
So much I didnt know about cam upgrades. Is there anyone in sydney that offers this type of quality

Awsome video as always, do you mind if I ask the reason for staying with the original pistons?👍
@BoostGumps3 жыл бұрын
Just no need to change them, aftermarket pistons aren’t cheap and on top of that they incur the extra cost of balancing.
@davidskinner67653 жыл бұрын
@@BoostGumps Cheers for that. Your both talented fellas. Love the channel. Keep up the great work 🤘

Comon, how come you not using com cams lifters and cams???? Ohhh! Thats right, they munch all the engine internals after the lifters shi+ themselves. Nice choice with the Crane jobbies thou. U guys rock!!!

What do you recommend for a cam for a L98 auto SS. I wanted 228/232 VCM Cam kit includes push rods . A 2500 stall converter ok or larger
@mekamayhem48493 жыл бұрын
What I miss on these type of videos is the torque settings for bolts requiring a torque wrench. Is this something you do on your other videos? or is it something you can do in the future?

Did you do piston to valve clearance with that cam and 30 thou off the heads? No piston pockets ?
@BoostGumps3 жыл бұрын
No issues with PTV. Could even go .040” and still clear with cathedrals. With rectangles it would be getting a little closer for comfort though
@gtools91372 жыл бұрын
@@BoostGumps Exactly what I need to know as I'm doing my L77 cam swap soon. Great detail that I just would not know without you valuable experience.

Hey bud I'm really kinda confused on what's going on with my ls1 I put a camtech cam 220/224 @.50 with I think stranded cromoly push rods.with difiliopo 2.5 cat back system stock auto and air filter with mufflers tune only got 225kw tuned with 98. I never did degree the cam I just went off tdc marks. Could that be why I'm not getting the power?
@gtools91372 жыл бұрын
Try a different tuner, thats a poor result.
@boostedls243 жыл бұрын
I thought LS3 heads had rectangle ports ? Why were there cathedral heads at 0:30 ?
@BoostGumps3 жыл бұрын
Because this isn't an LS3
@nickbarclay63253 жыл бұрын
Does taking 30 thou off the heads increase or decrease the compression ratio?
