I did something similar with the 6.0 in my Iroc with 799 heads (basically the same as the 243 heads minus the trick exhaust valves) but after I talked to Matt Happel he told me that the injectors from the 5.3 flex fuel motor has bigger injectors than the big block 8100 / the big block having 30lb injectors and the flex 5.3 has 36lb deals. Then I Fked up and bought new “oem” no name injectors off of eBay which didn’t work so I went to the junkyard and found a set that worked perfectly. Cool build man

Thanks, I went with the big block injectors because they bolt directly up, I thought the flex fuels have different connectors? The injectors showed up four of them look like they were pulled straight off a Beach. Clean them up with the air Schrader valve and carburetor cleaner RC battery to momentary switch. Two of them almost didn't open up. But I got them in the truck now running, still need a good tune

squeal the wheels / yeah I should have said the harness I got was an 03 n up dbw with ev6 injector plugs (roundish with two pins) I went that way because most manufacturers were all using that type connector before most went to direct injection (I’m keeping as far away from dgi as possible) like Volvo’s xc90 uses injectors that are plug n play with flex fuel 5.3’s up until 2007 model year and they’re 45lb injectors, so if I ever decided to go big with a turbo or something I can go to the yard for injectors instead of spending a fortune

Yeah that's good to know for turbo or nitrous, although if I need to go bigger I'll just go with the Marine big block injectors

Gives up too much torque down low with my application,big h.d truck.but it pulls hard from 3500rpm out to shift point 5800rpm.

Trailblazer 4.3 Torque Converter will help that's out. I'ma mill my 706 also so I wont lose much 😉

706 are good heads,mil'um down low and do a little port work. Eventually im going to swap my ls6 cam out for elgin stage 1.

On Richard holdener Channel he has a ton of good 5.3 builds. With Dyno numbers.
